hello, friends and enemies

idk what to say exactly cause i tend to overshare and then overthink it, but some main points should suffice

• my username, themaque [the—ma-k-wa (-wa as in way)] is a default nickname i tend to use online, and it’s just my bad misspelling of magic (what my friends call me) as i was trying to make it sound french

• i’m 18 (19 soon yippie, but also rather scared)

• english isn’t my native language so bear with me

• my mbti personality type is entj, and my enneagram is 3w4

• i like to travel, and my current favourite place i’ve visited is florence, and a place i’d like to see is torino

• i hope to study history & archeology at uni, cause i’ve had a lifelong addiction to both fields

• history hyper-fixations (and the time periods which interest me): ancient egypt (3100 bc–31 bc), renaissance (cinquecento), napoleonic wars (1798-1815), fashion history (16th-19th century) & random historical figures i jump between every now and then

• i’d like to consider myself a writer, but i feel everyone nowadays claims that they are one, so i just say i enjoy writing (currently working on a ‘novel’ set in 1949: political chronicles of a principality trying to stay afloat during the political turmoil of post-war europe); i also published a couple of articles in a history magazine last year

• i enjoy sewing and am currently working on my prom dress (it’s an 1890s gown)

• favourite books (and their authors): war and peace (leo tolstoy), catherine de medici (leonie frieda), conclave (robert harris), seventeen moments of spring (yulian semyonov)

• my favourite fictional character is prince andrei bolkonsky (war&peace) (my babygirl <3)

• favourite films/shows: the mummy (1999), pride and prejudice (1995), spellbound (1945), bringing up baby (1938), lion in winter (1968), the sound of music (1965)

• fav old hollywood actors (i’m a lil basic, don’t judge) : gregory peck (my husband), kate hepburn, cary grant

• my music taste is a bit over the place, but my top artists are abba, fleetwood mac, plavi orkestar and oliver dragojević but i also like musical theatre (my faves are hamilton and natasha, pierre and the great comet of 1812 obvi)

•i like going to the theatre. my favourite opera is aida (verdi) and my favourite ballet is hamlet (leo mujić)

and, in the words of donna tartt, i’ve got a morbid longing for the picturesque, so here’s my pinterest
