There be dragons here

The oc binge continues!

I want to draw them more, but I keep blanking on what I want to draw them doing.

Someone sensitive to magic might notice something a bit odd about the weathermage on the airship named Wanderlust. As she stands on the bow or swings in the ropes, there is an impression around her, the shadow of wings or the swish of a tail. A trick of the light, surely?

Rasa is a dragon with an airship, that used to be a ship-ship. It’s handy for taking all of her things about in, like a nice portable lair. She collects shells and seaglass and old maps. The crew that helps to operate the ship Is counted as part of her collection too.

She likes writing spells, because everyone needs a hobby. The spell that makes an airship fly is one of her creations, though it doesn’t have her name on it. She doesn’t mind, and still tinkers with the spell to keep her ship better and faster than the others. If he would let her, she would look into the spell that binds Winter, and maybe fix it.

She loves to wander, and shapeshifts so she can people watch from up close. She isn’t secretive about her identity, but having the ship and running a courier service make it easier to get around (and is more ‘acceptable’ than the general piracy of the old days). Sometimes they even take passengers. She delights in the shock when she flings herself over the side, freefalling until she catches herself by manipulating the wind, or shifting in midair.

Her magic is weather flavoured, she can meddle with the wind, move the clouds, make it rain or summon a storm.

Dragonrest

Another post-Book 3 sidequest focusing on a supporting character this week! But this time, it's a character we haven't seen in the main story since the Earth Orb: Fae!

She's sporting a face mask now, fitting in line with her AdventureFriends design, and looks to have picked up adventuring in the time since Book 1. From what I remember of her in Book 1, she was the timid/introverted type (which was also the case in AF iirc), so it's a little heartwarming to see that she's found something to be passionate about.

Her expressiveness throughout the quest was really cute too! It always did feel like Book 1 didn't lean into the expressiveness of her design as much as it could have.

That said, for what initially started as a pretty laid-back quest about touching base with an old friend, the quest ended on a pretty insane cliffhanger. The Guardian Dragon showing up looking really mangled was not on my bingo list, but that combined with the namedrop of Awethur means that it looks like Guardian lore is going to be the focus for this questline.
