There be dragons here

Another post-Book 3 sidequest focusing on a supporting character this week! But this time, it's a character we haven't seen in the main story since the Earth Orb: Fae!

She's sporting a face mask now, fitting in line with her AdventureFriends design, and looks to have picked up adventuring in the time since Book 1. From what I remember of her in Book 1, she was the timid/introverted type (which was also the case in AF iirc), so it's a little heartwarming to see that she's found something to be passionate about.

Her expressiveness throughout the quest was really cute too! It always did feel like Book 1 didn't lean into the expressiveness of her design as much as it could have.

That said, for what initially started as a pretty laid-back quest about touching base with an old friend, the quest ended on a pretty insane cliffhanger. The Guardian Dragon showing up looking really mangled was not on my bingo list, but that combined with the namedrop of Awethur means that it looks like Guardian lore is going to be the focus for this questline.

At long last, we've finally heard from Fae after all these years within the mainline story. It is good to know that she kept in contact with Valencia even if she spent a good portion of her time on her own as an explorer as a safety precaution for her own health.

Also, I just love that the devs gave her a similar expression changing mask that she had when we saw her in our dreams in AdventureFriends: Edelia.

Once again, Draco's ability to sniff out food remains undefeated.

And speaking of Draco's love of eating...

I wonder if in any of their previous incarnations developed a love for the culinary arts.

I loved Fae's little geek out moment here and it's rather interesting that these archives detail accounts regarding Awethur. If memory serves right, our very first account of them were from the Inn from their own weapon which described them as a Guardian. Finding out they were a king isn't a surprise since the obvious connection to Arthurian legend though I wonder which title of theirs came first: Guardian or King? Instincts are telling me the former.
