One of the most awesome things to happen in a while.

So this happed yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I feel a little undeserving but my professors said it was so and so it was. My first BJJ milestone and after a shorter time that I had imagined. I am so fortunate to have such great training partners to push me to limits I didn't even know existed for me. My professors Ulpiano Malachais and Inacio Neto along with Brian Marvin are who I aspire to be like and continue to drive me toward my ultimate goal. Thanks to everyone involved. Oss!

So this happened yesterday. I haven't written anything here in a little while not because I haven't wanted to, but because I've been preoccupied with life. My journey continues and since I was last here have gained a few stripes on the ol' dirty white belt. I'm at four now. I won the gold at Master 1 in the Houston open IBJJF event and am feeling pretty good. I wanted to submit my opponents bit won on points instead. It just makes me wanna get back to grinding and work a lil harder at Jits and in life. Oss!

Two stripes, one day. My first promotion at Gracie Barra Westchase, I was not expecting anything that day. Professor surprised me with not one bit two stripes that same day. Glad to have a great mentor and awesome training partners to guide me through this journey. Roll frequently…

So last Wednesday marked the first promotion in BJJ for me. I wasn't expecting anything just like any other day, when at the end of training my Professor called my name out. He noticed I hadn't had any stripes so far and awarded me my first two stripes. Needless to say I was happy but was not sure if I had progressed enough to deserve the promotion. Then again who am I to question my Professor? He has forgotten more Jiujutsu that I have ever known. Either way great day in my book! The journey continues.... Now to find and compete in my first tournament.
