I've seen dark before, but not like this This is cold, this is empty, this is numb The life I knew is over, the lights are out Hello, darkness, I'm ready to succumb I follow you around, I always have But you've gone to a place I cannot find

Day 7 of Quarantine.

This will all make sense when I am older Someday I will see that this makes sense One day, when I'm old and wise I'll think back and realize That these were all completely normal events I'll have all the answers when I'm older

I want to be where the people are I want to see want to see 'em dancin' Walkin' around on those (Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - feet

Every turn I take, every trail I track Every path I make, every road leads back To the place I know, where I can not go, where I long to be

Start on the chores and sweep 'till the floor's all clean Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up Sweep again, and by then it's like 7:15 And so I'll read a book Or maybe two or three I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery I'll play guitar and knit And cook and basically Just wonder when will my life begin? Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking Paper mache, a bit of ballet and chess Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making Then I'll stretch, maybe sketch, take a climb Sew a dress! And I'll reread the books If I have time to spare I'll paint the walls some more I'm sure there's room somewhere
