Ya know what, that's it. I'm taking the term 'media literacy' and am putting it on the tippy top shelf until some of y'all understand that someone not agreeing with your interpretation of a text does not automatically make them media illiterate. You are not the arbiter of the meaning of every piece of media you engage with. People can disagree with you and still understand what they read just as well as you did. It's why people are still discussing thousands year old texts for the love of god! If there was one definitive, correct way to read every piece of media with every other interpretation being a sign of media illiteracy, we would not have scholars dedicating to their lives to the study of works like the Shakespeare plays, the Greek epics, classics in general, and then discussing (or sometimes arguing about) their oftentimes contradicting reads of those texts with each other.

they should legalize polyamory. everywhere. and im not kidding at all. if someone wants to marry multiple people they should be allowed to. for any reason.

before anybody tries to say some bullshit about this, extending the definition of marriage to include multiple people would give members of religions forced into abusive polygamy the same rights any divorcing spouse would have without putting them at risk for being charged with bigamy. this would make it easier for people to leave abusive plural marriages.

Once again, the best way to protect the exploited is through regulation, which cannot be done without legalization.
