Hello! For this task we were asked to do a film review. I prepared it with my group friend İbrahim. I hope you like our review!

For this task, our instructor gave us 3 options. I chose the second option, which is creating a 1 minute podcast of a dialogue between characters that is like a chant/song. I had to think of a dialogue that had a story behind it. I decided to create a dialogue between a rabbit and a tortoise. It is a pretty classic story. The rabbit and the tortoise decide to race. The rabbit is sure that it will win because it is faster than the tortoise. During the race, the rabbit even decides to rest under the sun. In the end, the tortoise wins with consistency and the rabbit loses because of it's ego and pride.

It took some time to create the dialogue because I had to find words that rhymed together to make it sound like a chant. It was really hard to come up with a story idea that fit the description of the task, so I looked through old tales to find an idea. I came across the rabbit and tortoise story so I decided that it was the best option out of all.

I needed to give them characteristic qualities to make the story coherent enough for it to be understandable in 1 minute. So I started off with describing their characters, then moved onto the actual story itself. It took me a really long time to complete the story because of the rhyming issue, I also got some help from rhymezone to come up with ideas.

Recording it was the hardest part. I had to try a few times to achieve the characteristic voice I imagined the characters would have. I imagined the tortoise as a more wise and careful character, so I voiced it according to that. The rabbit sounded a bit more egoist and self centered in my head, so I tried to make it sound a bit more young and naive contrary to the tortoise.

The process was stressful. It was really hard to turn the ideas I had in my mind into a product. It got easier after I was done with the script. I also had to edit the voice recordings to get rid of any background noise or mispronounced words. I did the task on my own, so I changed the voice recording of the rabbit in pitch so that it would be obvious who was talking in the podcast.

I think that I would give a similar task to my learners in the future. It requires the learner to work in pairs. Creating a podcast would help the learner to also have fun while doing a task, it is a really great option for the teacher to incorporate fun tasks between the lessons to mix things up. The advantages of this task are pairwork, students are able to be creative. The disadvantages of this task are that it's a bit hard to edit the voice recordings and students may get frusturated after a while.

Hello, for this task our instructor asked us to create an infographic about certain topics such as plagiarism, copyright and fair use, safety and privacy, netiquette, cyberbullying. I looked into all of them and chose cyberbullying as my topic for the infographic. I used tools such as Canva. It was really challenging to decide on a topic. After I chose cyberbullying, I also had to choose an audience to base the infographic onto. I based the infographic on an audience of teeenagers.

Infographics can help English learners with getting familiar with such topics and they are really informative for all types of audiences and student types. Students gain the knowledge of creating an infographic based on a certain topic to inform a certain type of audience. I'm adding the infographic link onto this post.

Hi! Today I will be talking about our landmark assignment. Our teacher assigned us to prepare an ASSURE lesson plan and a material containing that lesson plan idea.

I prepared a lesson plan and material about New York. The first landmark is Empire State Building. I wanted the students to get to know the 360 feature first. They walk around the Empire State Building in 360stories.com, then they answer the 4 questions I provided them on the material. I gave the links on the material so that everyone would be able to access the same website without confusion.

The second landmark is Brooklyn Bridge. They first visit the website. After they walk in 360, they answer the questions again. I wanted them to try to find answers to the questions by looking around in 360. They have 4 questions to answer again.

The third landmark is actually a museum. I gave them the link to the American Museum of National History in New York. They have 4 questions to answer before we move onto the food section.

On the food/culture section, I wanted them to get to know hot dogs as a cultural food belonging to New York history. I talked about the attributions of hot dogs, it's history and connection to New York.

After they learn about the food, it's their turn to be a New Yorker! In the last section, they are supposed to help a friend from abroad walk around New York. They are role-playing as a New Yorker.

I really liked this assignment because it actually also helped me to get to know the culture of New York. I had a lot of fun designing the material and making it "American".

Hi friend! Flipped classroom aproach is a method which the teacher prepares videos and materials to be viewed by students in or outside of the classroom. The biggest advantage of flipped classroom is the fact that the students can view the videos whenever they want. They can always go back to it when they need to revise a topic. Flipped classroom also has disadvantages. Students may not watch the video beforehand if they were asked to do that for a class activity. Some students may not have internet access or a device.

For this task, I focused on the topic "simple present tense". The objectives of the lesson was to teach the students how to use it. They are supposed to learn how to form negative and positive sentences and the -s/-es rules. I prepared a 5 minute long flipped classroom video and a quiz as material for the students to complete afterwards. I used Edpuzzle to create a 5 question long fill in the blanks quiz. Since they are A1 level students, I gave them 20 seconds for each question.

I did this task by myself, so I can say that the most challenging part of it was to record the video. I had problems with the audio and I spent 30 minutes just trying to fix it. I prepared the lesson plan, the video and the quiz all together so that they were coherent. I also had to simplify my language for A1 level students.

Hello friend. Today I will be talking about the ASSURE model task that me and my two other friends prepared. The ASSURE model is a systematic framework designed for educators to enhance instructional design. It aims for a more affective learning process. The steps are, A-analyze learners, S-state objectives, S-select instructional methods, U-utilize media and materials, R-require learner participation, E-evaluate and revise. This task was pretty eye opening to see the clear steps in constructing a lesson plan. Some potential errors that may happen during class implementation could be insufficient material, problems on the internet access etc. The design process was quite fun to play around with. There are a lot of design options for the creation of the worksheet.

Implementing Corpus and AI tools is huge help for both the teachers and the learners. It helps to see different kind of examples, and helps the students come up with better and newer ideas. We chose the learners to be 11th grade students (16-17 years of age). The topic is quantifiers. They are also supposed to learn if certain quantifiers are positive or negative in meaning. The learning styles are mostly for visual and kinesthetic learners. The visual materials are mostly images.

We had a feedback session on our work. The feedback was very helpful for understanding what was missing in this worksheet. We mostly changed our instructions and updated the ABCD model in the lesson plan.
