And turns the static into hush;

A dose of serenity, a sudden salve,

That leaves the frantic currents calm.

Defying laws of time and space.

It wraps around my heavy chest,

And whispers through heated unrest;

“You’re safe.” 

A truth the lungs receive,

The only air I care to breathe.

Beyond the reach of empty streets,

Mountains wide, a silent phone,

Yet in the quiet, soft and deep,

Before the world resolves to sleep,
