it’s def because i’m asexual (maybe also aromatic?? stay tuned) and lowkey a relationship anarchist but i don’t really see traditional marriage in the future for lockwood and lucy. maybe a common law partnership but honestly i think they stay unlabelled. it's not like their relationship is lesser because they didn't sign a document - and they're both so anti establishment

not to mention both lockwood and lucy's experiences of traditional nuclear family structures are so tainted by trauma and grief and exploitation. i think choosing love, choosing each other outside of the confines of any legal system or societal expectation would be very healing
