#TheirLoveWasReal Challenge

So Cas and Dean are in Florida for their honeymoon and spend their last day at Disneyworld, which Cas declares is his favorite day. Dean rolls his eyes, but it is secretly his favorite as well. He can’t help but smile when he sees Cas in sparkly Mickey Mouse ears, eating ice cream that melts everywhere and makes him all sticky. And Cas says that the chocolate ice cream he’s eating is the best in the world, although Dean strongly disagrees: the bubble gum ice cream was right next to the chocolate in the display at the stand where he bought Cas a cone, and when he stole a bite, it tasted like bubblegum chocolate and it was disgusting.

Later, Cas wants ice cream again on the way back to the beach motel that they’re staying at, so Dean stops at a local shop and runs in to get him a chocolate cone. When they get back to the motel, Cas is just staring at it, letting it drip sadly into the napkin he’s holding.

“What’s wrong, Cas?” Dean asks, concerned at first.

“This isn’t as good as the Disneyworld chocolate,” Cas says. “I don’t want it.”

Cas and Dean have their first post-wedding argument over this, and Dean tells him the Disneyworld ice cream was terrible and Cas looks hurt and silently wanders in to the motel room to take a shower and doesn’t invite Dean to join him. Dean didn’t know it was possible to feel so bad, and while Cas is taking a shower he goes back to the ice cream shop and asks them to mix a scoop of chocolate with a scoop of bubblegum ice cream and puts it in a little to go container with the cone on the side.

When Dean gets back, Cas is sitting on the bed, arms hugging his knees, staring absently at the TV. He glances up from Scooby Doo and looks over at his new husband when he hears him walk in: “Hello, Dean.” He sounds sad. Maybe embarrassed that he got upset about something so silly.

Dean comes and sits on the bed with him and produces the half melted ice cream and the cone and proceeds to put it all together, making sure he has Cas’s attention. Cas watches him with interest as ice cream drips everywhere, making a giant sticky mess in his lap. Finally Dean hands Cas his creation with a lopsided smile. “I fixed it for you,” Dean said.

Cas wrinkles his forehead with confusion but humors Dean. When he tries it, his eyes immediately shine; it’s just like the Disney World ice cream. “You did this for me?” Cas might have happy tears in his eyes. The gesture is so soft - so thoughtful. And when Dean leans in to kiss Cas, the chocolate bubblegum flavor on Cas’s lips is the best thing he’s ever tasted. He pulls Cas in to his lap, disregarding the ice cream puddle there; it doesn’t matter.

“I love you,” he whispers. “I’m sorry.”

“You can’t – it’s not – One does not simply walk into the Empty and demand their boyfriend back!” the thing wearing Castiel’s face splutters.

Dean crosses his arms and glares at the doppelgänger. It’s a little disconcerting, to say the least; Dean had just gotten used to the featureless darkness that stretched in every direction around him when parts of the darkness had started moving, tentacles writhing and flowing together to coalesce into a humanoid figure. He’d been duly impressed – until colors had rippled across the blackness and resolved themselves into Castiel, blue eyes and tan trench coat and dark hair.

“Watch me. Also, he’s not my boyfriend,” Dean says. “He’s Cas. And I want him back.”

part 4 of the when we’re together series, but can be read as a stand-alone

Dean must have decided that he feels lonely, because he tugs at the back of Castiel’s shirt insistently. Acquiescing to his demands, Castiel lies down only to immediately have Dean make himself at home with his head on Castiel’s chest and an arm slung around his waist. 

Oh well. It has been almost two hours since they cuddled last. Obviously that’s too long. 

Putting an arm around Dean, Castiel rubs gentle circles between his shoulder blades with his thumb. Dean makes a pleased noise and then asks, “Tell me a story?”

This has happened a lot lately—usually during cuddling time but also at bed time or when Dean wakes up during the night and can’t settle back into sleep. He says he likes hearing about things Castiel has witnessed, and Castiel is happy to share his memories with him—the ones that weren’t taken from him, that is. He has told Dean about ancient warriors and beasts and battles long-forgotten. About the first sword that was forged, the first stars that were named.

“Hmm.” Castiel strokes a hand down Dean’s spine, thinking. “Something true?”

Dean shrugs. “Somethin’ nice,” he mumbles into Castiel’s shirt, rubbing his cheek against it.

I uh, did not know how to tag this one correctly. Consider it uh, fairly close to an SPN episode, but along the recently made Traxxverse, if you will.

This one has some fun DeanCas, ensemble and other elements but is primarily a Saileen piece.

So I may have made a followup to my last @theirlovewasreal challenge fic; despite technically being a sequel to the other piece, it may be an easier read than the other since there was a lot of think-piecing done in the actual story repair.

I guess you could say I epilogued my epilogue as a standalone for a more emotional piece not trying to tie off lingering plot threads and more a personal piece.

When Dean and Cas go to purgatory to get a leviathan blossom, they get separated bc the leviathan want to take Cas to Eve. When Dean finds Cas, he had prayed emotionally telling him he forgave him and all that. Well after hugging him, Dean tells him I need to say something. Cas tells him you don't have to say anything, I heard your prayer.

The part I never noticed? Watch Dean's reaction -facial changes when Cas says that...he was going to say something ELSE to Cas then. (Like finally tell him he loves him) because he ALREADY KNEW Cas heard his prayer 🥺

So, the thing that equally makes me want to eat glass? (If not more)

In 15x18 during the confession scene. Right as Cas has just told him that is who you are. Dean responds why does this sound like a goodbye? Cas says because it is. Watch Dean JUST before they pan back to Cas' face- I never noticed before (having obsessed over and re-watching JUST that scene idek how many time) DEAN STARTS TO SAY SOMETHING!!! but then Cas cuts him off with I love you. And then watch Dean's VERY NOTICEABLE reaction in his face to Cas' admission. PAIN, LONGING, REGRET.

THAT is how we know Dean loves him too. If you ever needed more proof beyond everything before that moment, there you go.

The nightclub was loud, atmosphere high with flashy neon colors surely merging together in what would make a unique snippet of your typical neo-pop art piece, and the people who are on top of each other all around the place are just one the wrong side of any sort of morally decent spot in life. The perfect kind of questionable mess and it's all in the open for the right opportunist to take. 

And oh, but she's going to take alright… 

It's why she's here in this hour in this kind of place after all… she's here for the taking. 

An hour ago she spotted her targets, steadily and oh very slowly lured them in. from afar she coaxed them to exactly where she wanted them to be, she needed them to be both physically and mentally ready and aware of her presence around them , they’re there now. They’re ready for whatever she wants to do with them and mission never never been that easy to go through before, but they’re just about the easiest live object she needed to “get” something out off of and she could kiss them both and whoever dumb asshole who trained them for just how willing they are to be manipulated and not even blink an eye at that. 

They didn't speak much, or at all really, she doesn't need them to speak just yet… not the place nor the time. Besides, if she could grab the drive without having to play them for more than an hour, she'll be perfectly happy with the outcome. So a conversation between the three of them is not required really and she'll try to keep it that way.
