I made a blob.

I have no idea what I did to do that. It just started warping.

I thought if I kept going it would fix itself. But it turns out it just got worse.

Could be an ornament though? Or a thing you hang up in your room?

Fun fact about crochet. You crochet inside out.

Most of the time anyway. There are different patterns on the inside and out. So depending on which one you want, you may flip it around before you’re done. Also let’s you hide nasty seems.

At least for now that’s what it is. I’ll flip it to hid that odd dip down in the edge.

Do you knit inside out too? I can’t knit so I wouldn’t know.

Finished the frill! I know it’s too curvy now, but I’m working on a way to fix that. I also need more white yarn. Heh.

Thanks to my Dad for coming up with this! (Love you Daddy! ^_^)

With crocheting toys, sometimes the weave would let the stuffing through. So my Dad came up with this.

1) Stretch out out some old pantyhose. (Mom had some old ones, so we stretched it over a leg pillow and hit it with the hair dryer. Not sure if the heat helped. But we left it over night and it was stretched out by noon the next day. But this was a cheep pair of pantyhose, keep that in mind)

2) (Optional) I decided to stuff the pantyhose a little before putting it in the body. Not sure if this helps, but that’s what I did.

3 and 4) Put the pantyhose in the body, and stuff until desired firmness.

5) Take a rubber band and wrap around the end of the pantyhose.

6 {two pictures}) Since a rubber band will dry rot eventually. The pantyhose would open up and may leak stuffing. So take a piece of yarn or string. And tie it around the pantyhose, right above the rubber band. This will keep the stuffing if the band breaks.

And you’re done!

Now to cap it off, I’m going attach the frill to the open side. You could just crochet it shut. But I decided to do it this way.

To get the scrunched look for his pants, I used the same technique I’ve used to make a hat. Crochet a rectangle, crochet the ends together, then use the tail treaded through one side, and pull like a draw string! Then just make two!

And now! After a trip to the yarn store!

I have QJ’s ruffle on his body now! The pantyhose stuffing is sealed in!

I’ve started working on one of his legs!

Here’s where I’m at!

So, I know I said I was working on his legs. But that involves a lot of small precise movements. And I get tired of that. So I moved onto his Dingly Dangly things of his jester hat. And his arms.

The bells do ring! And they are on there good! Thank goodness for the tail that comes with starting the slip knot!

I’ve gotten pretty far on his striped arm. Crocheting inside out, so it won’t look that messy once it’s done. And I have his other “hand” done! Just gonna finish one pattern before I start the other. (Can you call that a hand?) I don’t really know how to do pokidotes, so this will be fun.
