okay so who wants the work tea? one note and I’ll spill the reason I’m looking for other employment :)
okay so here's the tea.
I've been working at my job for the last year or so, and the lady who owns the business has always been kind of a bitch, but never toward me, which is part of why I stayed. I got on her good side and admittedly got a tiny bit of preferential treatment because of it, I'm not going to lie (mostly she just gave me the makeup from her Ipsy she didn't want and also I never had to worry about having days off denied). But I never made a big deal out of it, I've always been a hard worker, and I've always been on shift.
Flash forward to last week. Somehow, my incredibly insomnia-ridden, overworked ass (genuinely put in like fifty hours the week before) managed to sleep through both my loud alarm and several phone calls. I was two and a half hours late to work, on a day that I was meant to place my department order AND we had a store walkthrough with the new store owners (the business is being sold in a month). I immediately called in a panic, got dressed, and out the door to work in five minutes. Upon arrival, she literally swatted me away like a goddamn fly, so I went to her husband, hoping he would give me the talking to I was due. He did not.
It has now been seven days since the incident and the husband has not talked to me about the incident, and the wife? Well, she's all but avoided me. She has not said one word to me since the 27th. What has she done instead? Stared right through me as if I don't exist, talked to everyone around me but me, introduced all other managers to the future store owners but me, and oh, today's thing takes the cake. She referred to me as "that one" while on the phone with another manager. She couldn't bring herself to use my name, or even give me the dignity of a pronoun, because she's a literal child that would rather treat me like I died than have a conversation about how she feels about my tardiness. It's insane to me how fast the switch-up happened.
so I'm gonna find somewhere I'm appreciated rather than given the silent treatment for an issue that, frankly, shouldn't even BE an issue as one of the other morning managers regularly comes in hours late. but what do I know, right?
good fucking riddance.
