Beautifully Stoned

The stress of the world caves in on me, no longer can I breath easily. My chest starts to feel tight, my body then goes into fight or flight. Taking deep breaths I try to calm my mind, but calm is now too far behind. It feels as if I’m drowning, my heart it won’t stop pounding. My vision starts to haze, my mind turns into an impossible maze. As my body sways, I wish I hadn’t gotten out of bed today. It’s as if the world has set out to get me, it’s harsh blows making me think unclearly. Spiralling out of control, I sift through my mind in search of a loophole. With no escape, surely I know whats to be my fate. Hot tears swell in my eyes, I curl up tight holding my body close to my thighs. Panicking my body starts to shake, with it my entire body starts to ache. There’s no turning back from this, it’s not so easy to just dismiss. Waiting it out I’m filled with so much doubt, but through it all I survived after all.
