Apologies if this question has already been asked (or if I missed it in my read-through!), but have Pete and Patrick ever sat down and had a talk about Pete's immortality? Feels like it's a fairly big conversation that they keep putting off, which seems totally in line with this bit from Believers Never Die (the implications of which are SUPER interesting to me): "It seemed to Pete like there was a great deal about his being fae that Patrick didn’t like, but he didn’t like to dwell on it."
oh, no, you're 100% correct! it's a massive conversation that neither of them wants to deal with, and I don't know how familiar you are with Midwesterners, but we are professionals at Not Talking About It

I think I was thinking of the whumptober one but also conflated it with a different comment patrick makes somewhere else about how pete seemed like he’d known about and encountered hunters before season 2. no worries if that wasn’t supposed to mean anything to the larger story, just curious! and excited for whatever does come next obv!!!
i couldn't say for sure without double checking but likely the meaning there is just that Pete is definitely the one who Knows the Most about magic prior to the story's start! his mom told him a lot, he's older, he went looking in ways that Joe and Andy, having more hang ups about "monster" status, did not. To answer your question there's no like, big dramatic backstory with Pete and hunters, but he has definitely encountered them, definitely heard a lot of scary secondhand stories from other magic friends, and he's got the most context when they first meet them. i feel like every time i reread the series, even if it’s just bits and pieces, i start focusing in on some new small detail. i was re-reading some of the extra stuff and felt like pete’s pre-canon run in with hunters comes up a couple times in the extra content, but not that many times or that explicitly in the actual series? i was kind of curious if that was ever going to become more relevant to the main series, or if it was just a bit of tragic backstory that didn’t have room to be expanded on outside of the extra stuff lol
firstly, thanks so much for reading! but to answer your question with a a question: uhhhh which run in? I think i did one in Whumptober that was like. pseudo-erased from his memory, so that one wouldn't come up. (sorry to be flippant there's a lot of story and it's been a while)

obviously take all the time you need haha but i’ve been thinking about pete in the last chapter and his relationship to his powers and how joe seemed kind of freaked out by him near the end since you posted it and i am so excited to see how that develops!!

and YES for Joe I'm most excited to write a moment that is... not a villain arc, but the most "don't you just wanna go apeshit?" i've ever let joe have. for patrick i'm HYPE to write a scene where he um. snaps. (a little, not as bad as BND, but still). for Andy, I'm most excited about a scene in the penultimate chapter where he gets some Very Special Bonding with a character not in FOB (and not a love interest either) that has made me cry thinking about more than once and I hope transfers well to the page. And for Pete? I'm most excited about one line I've planned for THE climactic moment. I think people who get the reference will also be brought to tears. (I hope, anyway).

that chapter left me with so many more questions!! I have my own theories for why pete was struggling to recreate his miracle, but I’ll wait for some more information before saying it.
The scope for the whole restoration mission seems to be so much bigger than anything we’ve seen before! The fact that the egrigors themselves are scared says it all, this is a LOT bigger than even the apocalypse
And it makes me so happy to see the boys working well together! I know we’ll probably see more interpersonal conflict between them eventually but it’s so refreshing to go back to them vs the world for a bit. The development of their relationship with panic will be interesting to see, because eventually they do go on the SRAR tour with them, unless this changes here?
I’m very excited to see what’s coming, I can’t really predict anything going forward from now and that’s both thrilling and terrifying!!

re srar tour: I am keeping their tour schedule! we're still trying to match band history as close as possible, so the first leg of the sr&r tour will not have panic, but they will be touring with panic as of late summer 2013. This season may not be fast paced in terms of my release schedule, but in terms of irl time elapsed this'll be on the short side. I think it should all wrap up in universe by early 2014 at the latest.
