Macchi's family was working for the Arcanus-Custos family of Goetia. One of the goetic kings and his family. They served as bakers, most often. Sometimes cooks or candy makers in general. Purson was about what one would expect from a king when regarding his imps. Dismissive, sometimes cruel (though he was better than some), uninterested, and selfish.
His daughter however, was different. Thea. Macchi was hired by the family the moment she was able to be, though she was already quite close with the family as she had been brought with her mother to work and thus, was asked (told) to 'entertain' the daughter, Theodora.
When she sought a job, Thea offered to pay her to be her assistant and Macchi jumped at the chance. Thea treated her well, something not many imps could say. Though over time it mostly just turned itno Thea paying her to help her out from time to time.
Macchi eventually gained a bit more confidence than many imps felt allowed. And when Thea came to her with the offer of stopping paying her and instead going in halfsies on a coffee shop, Macchi declined. She didn't want the responsibilities of owning a shop. However she was happy to work there and basically do anything as long as she didn't have to worry about the boring paperwork.
Thea agreed and the two created Spill The Tea.
She feels incredibly luck and privileged to have the life she has, though her mother still works for Purson and her father does freelance work here and there- Thea has fought with her father to have his imps treated and paid better. He did eventually come around and treats them... better than most, though still like lower class. It's a start and it could certainly be worse.
Macchi is normally a bit loud, a bit chaotic though when it comes to more serious stuff she's somewhat afraid to bring too much large scale attention to herself. Not all of hell is on the same page as Thea.
She realizes her privilege and is quite afraid to lose it.
