Candy is cool🍬but ain't nothing like Soul Food 🍗. The kind of food that sticks to your insides. The kind of food that makes you feel at home🏡. The kind of food you miss when you haven't had it in awhile. It takes awhile to prepare but when it's ready-- it's worth the wait. Tasting like that heavy love. The love that your great-grandma and great-grandpa had (that I'm not going anywhere kind of love💕). Deep as the number of generations "that famous recipe of macaroni and cheese" passed down👩‍👧. The kind of satisfaction that always takes a plate home (and is just as good on the re-heat❤️🔥). The grace that's said over the food acknowledging the preparation 🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏🏽(because this meal is deeper than satisfaction). Being Eye Candy 🍬is cool but your beauty is the cheapiest part of you. BUT being Soul Food (deep and nourishing to the soul) is even better. Your Soul is the most valuable possession you own. Someone is going to be happy you prepared your soul and not just your flesh. I used to think "gorgeous" was the best compliment I could get but I realize I'd rather someone call me "dope" or "amazing" not just because of my beauty (that's the peach cobbler🍑💛) but because of my soul.
