where can i listen to big finish & whats the hype abou tit?
the hype about big finish is that it is awesome. hope this helps.
seriously though the hype about it is that we are doctor who uber nerds and big finish gives us even more doctor who
like seriously, there are whole different worlds of big finish recs depending on your tastes as a dw fan. was your favorite companion victoria waterfield? you're in luck, deborah watling recorded five big finish stories before she passed away. is the doctor's daughter your favorite episode? you're in luck, there are three box sets about the further adventures of jenny. do you really love the virgin new adventures? you're in luck, there are audio adaptations of several vnas and many new adventures with the characters who originated in the vnas.
as for where you can listen to it, that depends on what you want to listen to specifically and how much money you're willing to shell out to do it
they have a good amount of free stuff here on their website. these are mostly short excerpts from full-length stories, you can listen to these just to get a feel for that range or decide if you want to buy the full release
there are also some free short trips (short stories with a single narrator) and special releases (mostly short adventures that were originally released as a cd that came with doctor who magazine) that are pretty good
of the free stuff, i would personally recommend the five companions, a feast of steven, last of the titans, landbound, and the last day at work
if you look up big finish on spotify, they also have the first 50 main range (this is pretty much what it says on the tin. it was their main series of doctor who stories until 2021) stories. some of the main range stories that are frequently cited as the best are the fearmonger, the marian conspiracy, colditz, the chimes of midnight, spare parts, jubilee, doctor who and the pirates, and master. of course, the one's you'll want to check out depend on which doctors and story styles you prefer
there's also an assortment of other stuff, including some of the early eighth doctor adventures, a few companion chronicles, some of the sixth doctor lost stories, some short trips, and some spin-off stuff. probably best not to dip into the spin-offs that are on spotify right away. unless you're a big fan of jago and litefoot from the talons of weng-chiang
but if you try out the free stuff and discover you like it, i'd recommend looking through the big finish website and buying some audios that interest you/have characters you like/you've heard good things about, if you can spare the money of course
anyways i know i just threw a big wall of text at you, but my askbox is always open if you want some more specific recs!
