Listen, do yourself a favor this year. Smoke the bird. Save room in the oven for sides and pies AND give yourself an out if the crowd closes in too much. "Sorry, I'll be right back. Gotta check the turkey." Then go outside, grab a beverage (adult or otherwise) and enjoy a little solitude while a bunch of your friends and family wreck the house you just spent 4 days cleaning. And do what I do. My bird is done about 3 hours before dinner time. I wrap it in foil and then a towel and put it in an empty cooler. 3 hours later it is still moist, hot and delicious. Stay tuned. I'll be posting stuff live as I cook mine on my @greenmountaingrills in ThanksGrilling day ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ Pic courtesy of @joligreen123 : In researching the "how to's" of turkey smoking for this weekend I came across this shot of the Lucky Dog BBQ (Danville, Kentucky) smoked turkeys. Beautiful! They start with a 12-16 pound bird, brine them, inject them with their secret herbs and spices and smoke them over Hickory for 9 hours. . . . . . #turkey #smokedturkey #bbqturkey #brinedturkey #secretherbsandspices #hickorysmoked #thanksgiving #thanksgivingdinner #thanksgiving2019 #thanksgrilling #poultry #grill #grilled #grilling #pelletcooker #pelletgrill #smokewood #realwood #pelletsmoker #GMG #GreenMountainGrills . . credit to Lucky Dog BBQ https://ift.tt/2D6jTQ7
