The Pidgeon Strikes Again

“Matt, yesterday Lance touched me and my skin tingled and I got nauseous, but almost good-nauseous, but that doesn’t make sense???”

“You’ve got a crush, kiddo. You’re attracted to him.”

Pidge has no idea how to proceed with these feelings

Matt tells her to ask him to do something they both enjoy

This leads to Pidge asking Lance to play video games with her all the time

She doesn’t get what this has to do with her apparent “crush” but they bond and joke around so that’s good

Matt casually talking to Lance and slipping in praises about Pidge

Matt advising her to set up a more traditionally romantic date alone with Lance

“Lance, want to get dinner with me alone on this planet we haven’t explored yet?”

“Are you planning on murdering me or something? What did I do?”

Cue Matt sliding in with a super cool restaurant suggestion

“Give him random compliments.”

Pidge actively picks the most random times to tell him he’s clever or his eyes are pretty or smth

It catches Lance off guard and he always blushes

Matt tells Lance when Pidge falls asleep in her workroom again

It’s so worth it to see him carrying her bridal style back to her room

“Touch him. Nothing weird, casual touches, but more of them.”

Pidge starts leaning against Lance like he’s a pillar or a wall

He reacts by using her head as an armrest

Plance joking around in a public space and Matt loudly telling them to stop flirting

“Gifts. Gifts are romantic, especially really personal ones.”

Pidge steals Lance’s face mask, replicates the ingredients, and presents him with a tub of the stuff the size of a watermelon

Lance then convinces her to have a little spa day with him

“Pidge chose our dog Bae Bae because she was the runt of the litter.”

The animators had a story to tell.

Lance notices the arrival of Pidge in the Green Lion.

He turns away from the Allura statue to watch Pidge fly across the sky. He looks happy to see her arrival. His wounded heart is healing.

They still look like teenagers here. Lance is casually leaning his arm on Pidge, in a manner that is unconsciously affectionate. He still feels drawn to her, is comfortable being close to her, and is in her personal space (as always.) The pink mouse on Pidge’s shoulder has a heart-shaped tail, indicating a romantic pairing. They look incredibly happy.

They look like young adults here, but one can infer that their casual affection and familiar closeness remains. Lance’s hand is hovering over Pidge’s shoulder. Is he about to touch her shoulder or is he about to wave at the camera? Either way, we know Lance will be okay. He and Pidge look very happy standing beside each other. The pink mouse still has a heart-shaped tail after a certain number of years has passed, indicating that the feelings of romantic attachment have endured the test of time. This is endgame. 💙💚

This didn’t happen by accident.

Shipping Plance wasn’t delusional. It was logical.

Ok, so imagine a scenario where Matt starts to really worry about Pidge’s health because she continues to just glue her eyes to multiple screens, with barely any exercise and almost no sleep because of all her projects and experiments. He knows that she loves what she’s doing, but he also knows that sooner or later, people might mistaken her for a zombie.

So what does a good older sibling do? He bribes asks her to take a break in the summer home, close to a beach. (She only agrees after he promises to give her all his allowances and half his savings for an entire year, plus a huge box of peanut butter cookies)

Matt strictly does tell her that she’s not allowed to take any sort of tech, except her phone. She manages to sneak her laptop at the last minute 😈

Pidge continues her work on her laptop under to assumption that she’s on a break for the first couple of days before one night, she decides to take a walk outside along the beach. (She just couldn’t fall asleep after consuming 3 cans of energy drinks)

And that leads her to find a merman… (It’s Keith😉😉)

The poor creature lay unconscious along the shoreline, but he was still breathing and so the tech genius — a cryptid fanatic— decides to do the right thing.

KIDNAP HIM OF COURSE!!!

(Thank goodness, it was late so luckily no one saw her carrying a half-man half-fish all the way back to her house…)

It’s only after she fills up the shower area full of water and dumps him in, does she decide to share her news to Matt.

… Maybe she should have considered her timing…

Pidge managed to geek around for hours around the mysterious merman, never leaving the bathroom in case he somehow disappeared, until he regained consciousness.

It was finally her moment! To be the first human to ever have contact with an extra terrestrial.

And what does she ask as she makes first contact?
