Today is the birthday of the great Jon Pertwee, so here is something I finished recently.

I absolutely love sculpting him, such wonderful lines and character.

He’s a gift to a sculptor.

As today marks 22 years since the passing of George Harrison, here is something I finished recently.

Taking inspiration from footage of George around the time of the 30th anniversary of his album ‘All Things Must Pass’ in 2001.

We miss you George.

Today is the birthday of Sir Paul McCartney who I couldn’t live without, so here is something I finished a little while ago.

McCartney circa 1970 with his ‘Get Back’ beard.

I think it just about works.

Strangely enough I think I see his daughter Mary in his eyes, so I think that’s a win.

And a very happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there!

It was my birthday on the 13th so I thought I’d share my latest attempt at sculpting Tom Baker, as he appeared in the Doctor Who story ‘The Leisure Hive’ where he is aged by something like 1000 years. Approximately how old I feel these days.

I don’t recall seeing anyone sculpting this version of Tom so I thought I’d give it a crack. God knows I’ve meant to for ages.

A commission.

A companion set to an earlier collection of the first seven incarnations of Doctor Who, this time a collection of complementary monsters and villains.

A Dalek, Cyberman, lce Warrior, Zygon, Terileptil, Sontaran, the Kandyman. And the Master as portrayed by Roger Delgado with his TARDIS, in the shape of the Melkur from ‘The Keeper of Traken’.

Some *very* forbidden biscuits.

Great fun to put together, interpreting such colourful and characterful designs.

I hope you’re not hiding behind the sofa.

Also featuring Peter Cushing as Dr. Who from the two 60’s Dalek movies.

Oh and a TARDIS thrown in for good measure.

As the events of the day snowballed, it became apparent the news was going in one direction.

I thought I should do a little sketch to mark history.

The Queen cutting a cake at an event last year with a sword, because it was “more unusual”.

Within moments of the sketch being completed, the news broke that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away.

I have deeply conflicting feelings about the Monarchy. It’s existence patently ridiculous, but she seemed something accessible and I liked her very much.

In the very least she offered an escape from the grubby politics of the day.

I admire those who have a singular opinion, hot or cold.

One of the greatest sins of the modern internet is that it has convinced us it is impossible to have conflicting opinions on anything.

Anyway, she’s gone now.

-Saul Gone-

Very sad to say goodbye to Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman as I’ve loved every moment of ‘Better Call Saul’.

It’ll be tough not having another season to look forward to, wondering what Jimmy and Kim will do next. But all good things come to an end.

Here is what I imagine may well be my last sculpt of Odenkirk and the previous attempts I’ve made over the years along with the original sketch that started it all.
