Hello, How May I Serve You?

What intrigued Zion the most about the book she held was the fact that it had an infinite number of pages that’s always in good condition. There, he politely gestured her to drop the book on top of the present. It may have been late at night, but he can’t wait to get back home and play with his new toys.

At his words, Selenia smiled and laughed. "It's alright, I'll just hug you." Desoite being in her usual heels to be a bit taller, Selenia rose up to her tiptoes and hugged him from the side, making sure not to cause him to drop everything. Her arms just barely went under his chest.

"What do you think will be the first painting you'll do?" she asked curiously once she broke away. Knowing Zion, he would most likely set everything up the first chance he got to train out all the new paints and brushes. The genie had been afraid that she hadn't gotten enough, but was relieved of that fear upon seeing how overjoyed he was.

“Ah,” Tamar’s gaze shifted towards the floor instead, refusing to make eye contact with the woman. “I’ve got them done, I just got a bit…a bit emotional, you know? I just started wondering about bodies being recovered and all that. Like…how we only had my little brother’s arm in the end and I only knew that because I was the one who got it” she mumbled the last part quietly, despite being comfortable enough with the woman to continue talking to her. “I can give it to you all now for you to take if you’d like but you’d have to wait here. The office is pretty messy and I don’t want anyone to see it before I’ve cleaned up.” It wasn’t a total lie, she had gotten emotional, it was just that said emotion had been surprise over Selenia rather than sadness over the deaths of other people.  

Shutting the door on her female co-worker she rushed to the desk, double checking that everything was in order. She turned to Selenia placing her finger on her lips, before smiling ever so slightly. She was doing a great job at being undetected. Without another word she opened the door slightly again, and holding the large number of papers out with both of her hands. “I-‘m just really sorry I didn’t deliver them right away next time…well there won’t be a next time because I’ll get it all done then…”

The woman on the other side of the door gave a nod before the door was closed, Selenia's eyes staying on Tamar the whole time. She watched silently as she shuffled some papers, gathering them and packing them into one neat file. As her eyes locked with her, she gave a nod to the gesture she made, fingers pointlessly toying with the ends of her sleeves. At her apology and words, the other woman gave her a small smile before accepting the papers, thanking her before making her way down the hall, holding the papers close to her chest.

One the door was closed, and Selenia was sure the treat was over, she took in a small breath before speaking, a bit hesitant. "T-Tamar...? What did you mean by... by only having your brother's arm...?" she asked, slowly and softly,almost not wanting to be heard. "You don't have to answer if you do not want to, though!" she added quickly, not wanting to upset her by speaking about it.

When she greeted him a happy birthday, Zion simply gave her a hug before receiving his gift. “T-thank you, Selenia!” After smiling and breaking the hug, he stared down at the neatly wrapped present that appeared in a snap.

He lightly scratched the back of his head, flattered that his friend would give him a present — he naturally didn’t know people were to give presents during a person’s birthday. “A-aww… you shouldn’t have..” It would be rude not to accept it, so he gently took it from her and smiled. “R-really… I do like that you remembered,” chuckled the shy guy. "I wonder what’s inside," he questioned while unraveling the white bowtie, revealing what was inside. His eyes widened from the sight of it, and it made him very delighted.

"There's also this" she said as she put her hands behind her back, snapping her fingers again. Pulling her hands forward, he held a medium sized sketch book, a light, pastel blue cover protecting it's pages. "I put a bit of a spell on it," she admitted. "No matter how many pages you use, it will never run out. Sort of like a ever-lasting sketch book. It's almost practically indestructible, so nothing rips or crinkles. You can tear pages out, but that's about it."

She smiled softly at it before looking back up at her friend. "Do you like it?" Selenia asked. Despite his reaction, she felt that she should probably ask as well.

“You’re new, fifteen years old, from Wall Sina, you don’t know much of the outside world and you joined the Survey Corps because you wanted to see the world outside so much you’d die for it-literally, maybe it’s to also prove you can live outside Wall Sina on your own who knows?” Tamar ran a hand through her hair, trying to think up details on the spot, making sure that she would remember the details herself. “There was a mistake; your documents got destroyed at Trost so we’re rewriting them now.” She nodded satisfied with what she had made up.

She’d get away with that for the time being, people were still recovering from that, no one in their right mind would ask a rookie questions about it either. However before she could ask if the girl could stick to the story the door knocked. Looking back at Selenia for a moment she motioned for her to just relax as she approached the door, opening it just enough to stick her head out of it. “I hope this won’t take too long…” she began somewhat meekly. “I-I’m very busy.”

"Um, Commander Erwin wishes to have the paperwork" a female voice said, sounding rather nervous. "He understands that it is your day off, but, if possible, would like them today to let the families know as soon as possible." Selenia's eyebrows rose up, both in surprise, and concern. Let the families know? she asked herself in her thoughts. Does she mean paperwork of soldiers who have been killed...? It was a depressing thought, but then, this whole world seemed to be a depressing place now.

The now brunette looked down at her uniform. It was strange... People who wore this uniform would put it on, and not know if they'd see their families the next day. She couldn't imagine what the families felt, knowing their sons and daughters, husbands and wives, all, were going out and risk their lives to kill these Titans. Selenia let out a slow breath, wishing she could help somehow, but not be discovered.

“You look…like you’ve been here for your entire life,” she said, looking over her, eyes scanning Selenia’s jacket, weird. Had she picked the wings of freedom on purpose? Tamar knew that her own jacket was nowhere in sight, she was dressed as a civilian, technically today had been more of a day off than anything else so Selenia hadn’t copied her own uniform. If she’d picked them on a whim because they spoke to her somehow then the dark haired medic felt even worse about technically enslaving her. Shaking those thoughts from her head Tamar reminded herself yet again that the girl was unrestricted out of the lamp and she’d already decided she wasn’t going to do anything stupid.

She paused for a moment; something was different about her though. “You’re…a lot shorter than I thought you were though.” She smiled softly, trying her best not to laugh a little.

Selenia's eyes drifted down to the desk, seeing all the papers on it. Before, she had seen that they seemed to be files, most likely of soldiers. A concerned look crossed her. "Um, Tamar? I do not have one of those" she commented, pointing towards the papers. "What would happen if someone wishes to see my files, but find that I do not have any?"

Surely it couldn't be anything good, she thought, feeling a bit uneasy. She hoped that she would simply go unnoticed, as someone who was believed to have been forgotten, but wasn't sure if it would work. She opened her mouth to speak again, barely taking in a breath before there was a knock on the door. The genie stiffened, staring wide-eyed at the wooden door.

Realizing her mistake Tamar chuckled awkwardly. “It’s less the boxes themselves that kill the Titans and more the blades that are-“ she cut herself off, she really was awful at explaining things, knowing her bad luck she’d probably confuse the girl more. “You’ll see when I find the time to show you, things have been slow recently so I could probably show you tomorrow if you’re okay with that.”

“Would it be possible for you to change your clothes and your hair colour? I’d lend you something of mine but uh…” she trailed off, anything she owned would be far too big for Selenia.

Thinking for a moment, she rose up both hands and snapped her fingers. At the crown of her head, the pink locks started changing color; light brown slowly going down her long hair, tinting the pink evenly. Walking over to a mirror that hung on the wall, Selenia couldn't help but giggle. "I look as I did when I was human" she mused, running her hands through her now brunette hair. It would certainly be much easier to blend in now.

"Now for the clothes..." Thinking about what the soldiers wore, she figured that would be the best camouflage, since it seemed everyone here wore them. Another snap of her fingers, and her dress changed completely. The skirt morphed into long, white pants, while the top part changed into a short sleeved, faded yellow shirt. The same leather belts that the soldiers wore wrapped around her legs, while her high heels shoes changed into the long, knee-high boots. She pouted at this, furrowing her brows. "These boots don't have much of a heel, huh?" she sighed, now standing at her true height, about three inches shorter than before.

One last snap, and the same beige jacket formed around her arms and torso, holding blue and white wings on the back and on the sleeves just like those of the soldiers she saw. "Do I look like I'd go unnoticed?" she asked, looking down at herself before back at Tamar.

She had just happened to be one of the people who decided to join the Scouting Legion and experience just how terrible they were before the breach. She pushed her bangs back, trying not to dwell on it too much, not to mention it out loud. She liked to think she had done what was right at the time.

“The only way to kill a Titan is to slice out the nape of the back of the neck. They regenerate otherwise.” She paused, looking outside again, just to check soldiers were still in sight. “Did you see those things the soldiers had on their waists before? That’s the three dimensional maneuver gear, that’s what they use to get close enough. It takes a lot of training to use…I can show you when I find the time if you’re interested.” She shrugged, she was a medic, she didn’t see much combat anyway she could do with the practice.

As she listened to Tamar's explanation, she did her best to picture it. Selenia looked back out the window, eyes going directly to the large, silver boxes. She wasn't quite sure how those boxes could take down something to large, though. There were tanks on the top of them, so it was even more confusing than before. Upon hearing that she could show her how they're used, Selenia's eyes widened, a smile forming on her face. "Really? Thank you!"

She paused for a moment, a thought popping up in her mind. "Tamar, would I have to hide around and keep out of sight from others?" she questioned.

“So the last time you were out of your lamp was at least over one hundred years ago…” she took another quick glance at the girl, she didn’t look a year over eighteen. It was weird to imagine that she’d been alive for eight hundred years. “As far as I’m aware they’re all over the world. Anything outside of the walls is Titan territory. And um as for where they came from I’m not entirely sure, I’m not a Titan expert by any means and I’m sure someone has made a hypothesis somewhere but…obviously it’s not known to the public. And they appeared over one hundred years ago so it’s not like they’ve always been here. Humanity as the apex predator has become the prey, it’s weird. I’d say it’s unnatural but Titans seem natural enough…they’re even most active in the day because they get energy from the sun. Heh.” She let out a half-hearted chuckle, they really were the perfect way to wipe humanity out.

“I’d like to reassure you and say it’s fine, we’re happy and safe like this but as you can tell from outside…I’d be a liar.” She bit her lip, deciding she wasn’t going to say anymore on the subject. 

The thought that everyone was trapped behind walls was a sad one. They were almost like animals fenced in, kept together in a small area to be kept safe. She wondered if they could travel outside of the walls without the risk of being killed. Probably not, she thought. If she said everything outside of the walls was Titan territory, some of them have most likely never seen life outside of them.

Looking back up, Selenia asked, "Are humans able to kill them, though? Being so large, I imagine it'd be a difficult challenge, but, is it possible?"

Hey, everyone. So this is really, really important. Especially people in the TACOMA, SEATTLE AREA.

Early this morning (Sat. June 21) around 3:00 AM my husband saw somebody jump our backyard fence and snatch our 15 week old puppy, Fennris. Everything happened so fast, and it was completely unexpected so by the time we went after them, they had already gone.

The puppy is about 15 weeks old, an Alaskan Klee Kai (miniature husky). He weighs around 6-7 lbs and his coat is white/gray/black and he has bright blue eyes. He is wearing a blue collar with a nametag on it that reads “Fennris”.

We believe somebody grabbed the puppy, got into a car and drove away.

Please, please, please anyone in the Tacoma, WA area keep an eye out and if you see anything at all or hear anything PLEASE contact me right away.

“There’s not a person alive who hasn’t heard of them so it’s going to be weird for me to explain this. Titans are humanoid looking creatures, usually large; there are different classes depending on size for the most part, 3-6 meter class, 7 meter class, 8-14 meter class and 15 meter class. Usually they’re pretty damn stupid too. There are also deviant class Titans, they show some sort of intelligence, they won’t just go for the closest person to devour they’ll try and deal a lot more damage…”she frowned softly, trying to think of anything else she missed out in her explanation, she was sure there was a lot but it was only meant to be a small explanation. “They eat humans with no reason, they don’t need them for sustenance or anything and when their stomachs are full they just throw the people back up again…so ah the deaths themselves are pretty pointless.”

She ran a hand through her hair, an attempt to calm herself as she leaned against the wall. “Is there anything else you want to know now, Selenia?” she asked.

Gazing back out the window, staring at nothing in particular, she let her thoughts speak aloud. "Never in my eight-hundred years have I heard of such terrible beings. The last time I was out of my lamp, people did not need to live with those creatures. Probably the only thing they needed to worry about was becoming ill, or seeking shelter when storms came in. Just, regular worries. But, Titans..." A thought came to mind as she stepped back away from the window, biting her lip for a moment before asking. "Actually, I do have a few questions, if you no not mind..." She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. "These Titans... Are they all over the world, now? And, is it known where they come from, or when they first appeared?"

It felt like a lot to take in. It made her wonder how much the world had changed since she last saw it last, what other cruelties humans had to face each and every day.
