Dear Reader, Tuesday. 16th of July 2013. I woke up this day filled with anticipation and excitement. It would be a really long day ahead. After days of preparing for this day, finally it came. Our Nutrition Month celebration. This day started with our Home Setting. We were given 2 hours to set our classroom with our theme. Everyone was shouting, yelling and moving very fast. Cuts of scissors were heard and the friction of the tables' feet against the floor resonated in the classroom. Doors were banging along the corridors. Everyone was busy and in a rush. Foods were delivered one by one and were then plated by Grace and company. The cubicle was designed with vintage things. Bottles with candles were hung in the corner of the rooms. Bantings crossed the room's ceiling. Our faces filled the Cork Bulleting Board. The place where the Cubicle is supposed to be placed was decorated with a swing-at-your-own-risk and paper flowers. Outside of the classroom, the airport was constructed. In addition, the Bulleting Board was designed by my classmates. A signage that says "Bistro Dario" was placed, which was similar to what we had inside. All was set after 2 hours. Everyone then changed into their reapective attires as the judges neared our classroom. Candles were lit up and Fluorescent lights were turned off. The room was lit up by candles inside the jars and bottles, and Christmas lights hung in the corner of the room. We felt success and satisfaction as we saw what we did. Everyone then scattered around the room as the judges entered the classroom. The live band began playing country songs and the singers started to sing. It was like as if in Ohio. After a quarter of an hour or so, the judges then left the room. We were all like #YOLO. People started screaming, and the band played louder songs. But, we didn't eat until Sir Desi came. :) We were so glad having finished decorating our classroom. We felt satisfied as we saw the foods on the table. It was plenty, abundant. I was thankful to God for the food that we had. It was nourishing and filling. Then, we ate. People entered our classroom. Students from other sections and teachers throughout HS. Smiles marked everyone's faces. After eating, we cleaned our classroom. Leftovers, garbages, trashes, they all were dumped in the overflowing trashbins. The afternoon event was held in the auditorium. It was less exciting though still entertaining. Each event ended then the Awarding Ceremony followed. Deserving groups, teams, classes and individuals reserved their awards. Our classroom Home Setting won, though expecting to be Champion, 2nd Place. It reminded us to prepare and to humble down ourselves. Though filled with disappointments and rants, we were still happy for what we've got. After all, it's not the award that matters, it's our fun and memories we had together as HUMILITEAM. Love, P.
