The Fire Still Burns For Them

Sister Helen, a nun who had living in a monastery for years since she was a child has been dedicated to her religion. Never steering off the path she had been put on and always doing her duties. Even after your muse, took over the land, she remained defiant. Refusing to give in, while most of her fellow sisters had fallen to the temptation.

But she won't. Even as your muse entered her temple, she remained defiant. "I don't know why you have come, foul monster. But if you have come to repent for your sins, I will be here to pray for you then."

“ I don’t even know where to begin-” the older witch said while rubbing her temple, “-that nasty little bitch running her mouth the way she did, those bats entering our territory, and now you! You and Knight’s little guard conversing, what-were you sleeping together as well?!”

Lara’s eyes grew the more her boss spoke, her body completely stiff until Katiuscia made her last accusation. “ N-No, ma’am! It wasn’t-we we’re just friends!” She desperately explained, “ Francene and I, we just get drinks and talk! We know better!”

“ Mm-hm…” Katiuscia consumed the entire glass of champagne and set it down roughly so the bottle could pour itself again. “ I suppose it really did matter when Miss James tipped me off about the Blood Mob sneaking into our territory.” The older witch folded her hands and rested her chin on them. “ You know-you’ve always seemed so loyal to me until now, Miss Darling. And while this truly has put a dent in how I will view you from now on, I will admit I might have come up with an idea for what you could do to make this up to me and our family.”

Francene grabbed her coat and stormed out of the Blood Mob’s headquarters as fast as possible, unable to recognize any noise or voices she might have heard. The only thing on her mind was getting her daughter and getting the hell out of the state.

One of her other hitmen, one almost as good as Francene walked in, his face one of complete aggravation. Jordan knew he wanted to take her place as her right hand man. “Well it seems Francene has compromised us,” He said gruffly. “Shall we proceed with removal?” He asked. 

Jordan didn’t turn around, not even her head to look at him sideways. “You will do no such thing,” She said firmly. “Why yes it’s true she has hurt us, I am certain the witches are feeling the same. If she decides to leave that’s her prerogative. Our interests are still expansion. So, no matter what; Leave. Her. Alone.” 

Jaclyn had been very aware of Lara’s time with Francene, having escorting her to their meeting places more than once. She sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. It wasn’t jealousy she felt at the information; it was worry. Jaclyn knew they wouldn’t this news go, along with Jordan’s very apparent threat towards Jaclyn in particular, Jaclyn knew Lara was about to have a lot on her plate.

Franny was the only one Jordan couldn’t hate, couldn’t make suffer. While it was true if someone else had done what she had done, Jordan wouldn’t have hesitated to torture them. But Franny....

Francene took a deep breath, sitting back and folding her arms. It felt as if the inside of her-her soul at that-turned into the sun.

Jordan leaned back in her chair and laced her fingers. “I’m sorry to hear that Iona,” She said with a slight frown. “I also regret to inform you that your latest deposit has been rejected,” She added, reminding Iona the power she has. “I hope you didn’t mean that money later, I mean it.”

She then turned to the older witch and shook her head. “And if your little bodyguard doesn’t watch her step around the outskirts, I hate to think what my men would do if she crossed the line,” Jordan said, giving them more teeth. Her face then fell into a stone look of apathy.

“ Such massive balls you have, Jordan-how can you walk everywhere without letting them drag on the ground?” Iona asked, a curious expression taking over her face. “ I’m going to tell you what I think the old lady and I are both thinking-mind your fucking business. I mean-it’s so simple.”

She glanced at Katiuscia, who let out a dry chuckle. “ No, Miss Knight,” the witch answered for both parties, “ I don’t think anyone would like to taste the poisons you might have obtained. Enough time has been wasted-we should get this over with.”

     She was asked so many times-confronted about it even, but Wendy always promised that she was not afraid of space. She was not afraid of space or it’s vastness, the earth was surrounded by it and-when the therapist thought about it-the earth was one big organic spaceship that was stuck in orbit. Of course this wasn’t something she said out loud.

It took a hell of a lot to convince herself the trip would be nothing; her friends already told her they would be asleep for a majority of the time it would take to reach what was currently called Iona, the planet the team would be exploring. Wendy, being a therapist, was supposed to help the team manage their mental health while in space, she would be working with the team’s medic, Micah, who Wendy met while going to college on earth.

There was 8 people on the USM Polus. Those 8 people would be in stasis for a little over 90 years to reach the new planet-nothing could go wrong. Wendy had to make herself believe that as she laid down in her stasis chamber, smiling as Micah promised to see the therapist first thing after waking up. Falling asleep was almost like going under anesthesia in surgery, something Wendy was used to.

“ Miss Knight,” Bellandi spoke, her voice similar to a musical instrument-some have said the violin, others were sure she sounded like a flute or a harp. “ Your concern for the small things is always so refreshing, but do try to have some faith in the Fiends. They never fail to surprise anyone…” She took her seat first, then Eike and Lara joined her on both sides, the latter pulling out a seat and patting while looking at Jaclyn.
