Shauna's eyes snap up to Lottie's and she frowns when there's the discussion of limits, "We're not allowed to actually scene together, Lottie." The muscle in her jaw jumps at the thought of it, and she tries not to let herself spiral actually thinking about it, and instead pushes all memories away of shit they've done before. Very illegal, stupid shit.
She grabs her books and shoves them forward, "We just have to write a paper on the.. benefits, I guess, of different kinks." Her face goes red, and she doesn't quite look at Lottie when she says it. It's not like they can practice legally, but she knows many of the other students working on this project will be. Just another way she's at a disadvantage here.
It pisses her off.
"Maybe you can find someone to fuck around with and report back or something, I don't fuckin' know."
She shrinks a little into herself as Shauna clearly gets upset at what she says. Lottie had forgotten honestly, yes because it didn't apply to her, but also because it never really crosses her mind that Shauna is a Switch. Not in a bad way, but more like Shauna is Shauna, so much more than whatever symbol is tattooed on her wrist. Lottie wants to be more than that too, but she can tell that there's a misunderstanding.
Her lips part, wanting to interrupt, but the words die on her tongue. She doesn't want that, and she tries to say that to Shauna, but she's afraid of saying something wrong again. "I didn't..."
Lottie bites down on her lower lip and she fidgets with her fingers. "Even if we can't practice, we can still... talk about it," she suggests. She doesn't care about the actual act of it so much as the connection that scenes are supposed to foster, a connection that she remembers feeling with Shauna, but she can't just bring that up. "We should study the benefits for everyone, including Switches."
