He doesnât really know where anything is at this point, but he figures that the best way to find out would be to explore around, right? Heâs still cold, very cold, but heâs either getting used to it or getting numb. After he figures out whatâs west of town heâll probably head back to the lodge for a while to warm up, because he really doesnât want to end up dying of hypothermia or something like that. Thatâd throw a bit of a wrench in what he wanted to do.
Thereâs nothing here that heâs interested in or knows much about, although Souda would probably have a lot of funâa bunch of factories, construction sites and stuff like that. Apart from that, there doesnât actually seem to be a whole lot. Maybe thatâs why thereâs also practically nobody here. The only person he sees is someone in a labcoat that he could concievably believe works hereâexcept, that red cross on his coat throws that off a bit. Isnât that the kind of thing doctors wearâŚ?

âWELL THEREâS GETTING THE ELECTRICITY SET UP, MAKING SURE THAT THEREâS STILL A SAFE PATH BECAUSE IT IS A MAZE, AND MAKING SURE EACH PIECE CONNECTS CORRECTLY.â

The medic cackles a bit. âIt couldâfe been much vorse vorking vith zem.â At the question, he answers, âA little, but Iâfe alvays been good at adapting and improfisation.â He grins smugly, letting out another cackle. âI really enjoy all ze fariety sough!âÂ
âIs it a matter of not hafing ze right skills? Maybe you might hafe a hobby or somesing zat can be used on ze job?â he suggests. âOh, vere are my manners? I am known as ze Medic.â
Thereâs an edge in the other manâs laugh, a sharpness that leaves Mondo uncertain. The doctor appears cheery, however, despite the story detailing idiots calling for him when they donât need him. âIf you say so, I guess. It sounds really fuckinâ dangerous to me, though.â Besides, isnât there a Western story about something similar with a kid that cries wolf too often?
Mondo canât remember the specifics and it likely doesnât matter anymore. He has doubts the doctor will hear any false cries for help in this kind of situation; thereâs too many important things going on with demons, missing children, and whatever their contract means. Especially when this manâs taken up work at the hospital. âWell, thatâs good, ainât it? It would fuckinâ suck if you couldnât put anyâa your skills to use here.â
After all, thatâs the predicament the young teenager finds himself in. âI can ride a motorcycle really fuckinâ well, but thatâs âbout it.â He doesnât have one currently, either, and itâs questionable how useful it will be. Maybe if he can find work as a delivery boy of some kind, but is that even a possibility? Mondo doesnât know if anyone would hire him. âI donât really have any skills other than that.â
He doesnât feel like talking about his poor skill set, though. Mondo can call himself stupid as casually as stating fact, but that doesnât mean words like that donât sting everytime he hears them. At least names are an easier topic. âSo, people just call you The Medic? Is that really what you wanna go by for a name?â
âZat comes vith ze job,â the medic replies. âI can usually tell if zey actually need healing. And zat vould be fery terrible indeed.â
The medic hrms. âIf you know how to balance on a motorcycle, a bike shouldnât be zat much different,â he suggests, âAnd itâd probably be much easier to find, too.â He would definitely agree with the delivery job though, had Mondo suggested it.Â
âYavor. Ze entire band of mercenaries I used to vork vith goes by such names... Soldier, Scout, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper, myself, and Spy. Ze group has quite ze fariety.â

âI donât have any idea.â He cleared his throat and forced a grin. âBUT IF THIS PERSON IS TRICKING CHILDREN INTO FOLLOWING THEM, THEN THE ELECTRICITY MAZE WHILE DETER WHOEVER IT IS FOR SOME TIME. THE VOLTS WILL HURT LIKE BEING TAZED BUT THEY WILL NOT KILL. SEEING THE ONE LEADING THEM INTO DANGER BEING ELECTROCUTED WILL ALSO MOST LIKELY MAKE THE CHILDREN HEâS TRICKING RUN AS WELL.â
