Often mistaken as the “Career Woman Starter Pack,” but really, it’s the end result of hours in Youtube looking at poreless Korean women. I guess I got trigger-happy. What you see is a plethora of serums, toners, emulsions and this new thing called Castile Soap (I got one with peppermint and IT IS LIFE CHANGING!!). I use it so often to cool off that after 2 weeks I’m halfway done haha. And yes-finally bought sunblock AND IT’S AWESOME!!! Can’t believe it took me 25 years of existence to realize how much I needed one. Haha. I bought all of these beauty loot over at Beauty MNL. The result must be good cause it got my dad (asked me to buy him a toner), my brother (who happens to be hetero, and asked me to get him a vit c serum) and my mother (asked me to get her anything anti aging). Can’t believe my family are bonding over skincare. Haha.

I cannot overly emphasize the urgent need for every man and woman to know this, God forbid we have to ever use this information for anyone we know, but when the need arises it’s better to be prepared. A few details:

Provide first line support that is child or adolescent-centred and gender sensitive in response to disclosure of sexual abuse.

Minimize additional trauma and distress while taking medical history, conducting the examination and documenting the findings.

Offer HIV post-exposure prophylaxis and adherence support to those who have been raped and who present within 72 hours

I’ve been more present in the interweb this October because I’m taking my own sweet and precious time in doing as little as possible before I start working. This could just be me letting my laziness taking over. Maybe. Some think it’s a waste of time; I could actually be doing some moonlighting prior to working to get the funds I need in the first few months at work where I would be without pay (attributing to the fact that in government institutions, a senior has to graduate in order to offer future applicants a job order with it’s accompanying salary). But I just want to do rid myself of the stress I’ve been through in the past months. For some a week’s vacation is all they need, but for me, like the way I want my massages, I prefer my destressing slow and long. I’m pretty low key when it comes to basically everything in my life--doesn’t take much to make me happy. Oftentimes, a good meal, a great laugh and a rare moment by myself listening to the rain does me more good than a vacation ever does. It’s a refreshing break from all the rushing to and fro. Sure, I might be behind my peers with them working already, but I like to think I’m gaining some much needed perspective about what I want in lifewith the time I’m taking to get to know what it is to just...be.

TV | Steven Universe  For the simple reason that the lead character is not only a: a.)  a young (and only) boy belonging to a group of femme fatale superheroes called the Crystal Gems but also has b.) mad and funny songrwriting skills Check out Steven’s song which got me hooked. I’ve adopted this habit of watching really laidback shows in my between studying for the boards just to let my brain rest from all the reading (which really helped!).

First and foremost, hello followers (if I still have any)!! I’ve been away for a sizeable amount of time because my blogging (really its just me posting sporadically whenever I’m able to) can’t keep up with the life of a med student/intern (or maybe it’s the other way around?). I’ve been through a lot these past few years and I won’t rehash those days of blood, sweat, and tears and will instead focus on the future. 

 As if it needs any more emphasis, yes I passed the Physician Licensure Exam (Philippine equivalent to USMLE Step 1,2,3) last Sept 2017 and now looking for productive ways to fill my free time prior and in between residency. 

In the future, this blog will be inclined in the direction of the life of a doctor inside and outside the hospital ( i.e books, film, tv and cereal box literature) that might prove tedious and monotonous to some (which I totally get). Also a word of warning: I’m a little rusty (see the random bold phrases in this post; yup rusty) with my writing so bear with me as I reboot myself from oblivion. 

Let me get straight to the point. The topic of this post (after more than a year long hiatus) is to share my gratefulness to God for this entire experience(PGIship) Here is my message (enmeshed in our native dialect):
