A $6.5M Warehouse Turned Industrial-Chic Dream Home in San Francisco
San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, once purely a warehouse district, is today home to a lively lineup of nightclubs, restaurants, tech companies, and art spaces. But perhaps no address epitomizes this locale better than 421 Tehama Street. Newly renovated, this industrial-chic former warehouse asking $6.5 million redefines loft living and features a perfect live-work atmosphere.
San Fran-based firms Knock Architecture & Design and Butler Armsden Architects fully revamped the property, emphasizing SoMa’s industrial past. The 5,279-square-foot open floor plan spans a ravishing three levels. On the first floor, a great room holds skylights and 20-foot ceilings that soar to the roof. Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass and steel, as well as exposed wood, brick, and concrete, mingle masterfully and pay homage to the space’s history.
Four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms flaunt industrial elements as well, offering charming, private enclaves. On the top floor, stylish home offices give off energetic start-up vibes, appropriate for The Golden City where fresh ideas and new companies are aplenty. The home is zoned for live/work as well, keeping possibilities open.
An expansive rooftop deck crowns the abode. Ideal for entertaining, this outdoor space completes the dreamy, urban oasis.
