The big one!
The pattern is "Fashion Doll Dream Castle" by Diane T. Ray, published by The Needlecraft Shop in 1994.
It took me a year and a half of fairly consistent work. There are still some pieces of furniture missing, but I doubt I'm going to return for them. Learned a lot while putting this together, including where I wanted to put in more work than the pattern maker, and where she wanted to focus instead.
I have added more drawers, doors, and secret hideaways. Also designed the flagstone pattern for the stone floors, which I'm still pleased with.
The biggest problem, in the end, is the size. It's five feet long, two and a half feet tall, and just under that deep from entryway to the cantilevered floor of the kitchen/bathroom.
Also, my niece is convinced that she is going to be the sole recipient of this castle someday. This is important, as I remember my grandmother making this pattern back in the 90's and both desperately wanting the castle, and knowing that my sister and I had already gotten one plastic canvas/needlepoint dollhouse and were not likely to get a second, fancier one.
After a year of spinning with a drop spindle, I finally took the plunge and bought a spinning wheel! Of course I had to do it the hard way by buying a used wheel and jumping straight into learning to restore it, but honestly I think it was more fun that way.
The only real hiccup was when the replacement eyelet for the brake band snapped off right after I finished screwing it in, but I just put a spare hook from the repair kit in just below the original hole which works fine.
Also featured, my first ever attempt at spinning on a wheel, which is yellow corriedale from a bag of broken bits I had lying around, spun and then chain plied. I'm honestly boggled at how nicely it turned out, I was expecting to have a massive learning curve switching from spindle to wheel.

The Wind Waker Tapestry complete with games for scale
This one took a little longer, just under a year I think.
I forgot to make this post but I finished my cross stitch the other day!! The pattern is Hasanlu Lovers by NightSpiritStudio, and I'm really happy to have this be my first project for getting back into the hobby. To be honest there are two places where I messed up very slightly in my counting but they were minor enough mistakes that I didn't realize until I was quite far ahead of where I messed up and I could work around them pretty seamlessly. Unless you know what a perfect version should look like you wouldn't notice at all.
I'm finding cross stitch to be a very good craft to keep my hands busy while I have something on in the background. It holds that extra bit of attention I feel the need to put somewhere without overpowering my ability to take in information. I like this pattern especially because I find a lot of cross stitch is a little too cute for my taste and even the really complex ones are of things I just don't care about all that much. Realizing I could make a pattern based on any picture is really going to open up a lot of possibilities for me
