I think we can all agree that sometimes we spend a little too much time online.
Between scrolling, comparing, and constantly having something to look at, itβs easy to forget how nice it feels to do something simple just because it makes you happy.
Sometimes the best moments are the ones away from a screen creating something, cleaning your space, going for a walk, or just taking time to be with yourself.
Here are a few things I love doing when I want to spend a little more time offline:
We all have things that annoy us. Maybe itβs a person, a celebrity you donβt personally connect with, a trend you canβt stand, or just little things that bother you.
A burn book can be a fun way to get those thoughts out of your head and turn them into something creative.
Make the cover cute, messy, dramatic whatever matches your personality. Add pictures, write your thoughts, scribble over things, decorate it, and just have fun with it.
Sometimes you just need a place to let it all out.
β‘ declutter your room & clothes
I recently did this myself, and honestly⦠the difference was incredible.
A clean, organized space can completely change your mood. It almost feels like youβve rearranged your whole room without actually moving anything.
Iβve always been someone who gets attached to everything I own, so getting rid of things can be hard. My little trick is using storage boxes with lids. Anything that doesnβt fit the aesthetic Iβm going for can be neatly stored away and tucked under my bed.
That way, my space feels cleaner while I still get to keep things that are meaningful to me.
Yes, I know journaling is probably one of the most recommended things everβ¦
But honestly, thereβs a reason people love it.
Unlike a diary, a journal can be anything you want it to be. You can write about your day, make lists, create goals, collect ideas, write down dreams, make playlists, or just let your thoughts spill onto the page.
There are so many ways to make it your own, and I honestly think itβs one of those hobbies you never really get bored of.
β‘ reading magazines or books
Magazines are basically social media, but on paper.
They have fashion, advice, beauty, stories, interviews, and so many little things to discover without the endless scrolling.
One of my favorite things would be finding old teen magazines from the 2000s. They had so much personality: quizzes, fashion inspiration, advice columns, celebrity news, and random little pages that could keep you entertained for hours.
Thereβs something so nostalgic about flipping through a magazine.
There is something so peaceful about going for a walk when the sun is setting.
Put on your headphones, play a playlist that makes you feel like the main character, and just let yourself think.
Maybe it sounds dramatic, but those quiet walks where you reflect on life, listen to music, and watch the sky change can be some of the nicest moments.
Sometimes we donβt need to do something huge to feel better. Sometimes we just need a little fresh air, a good song, and a moment away from everything.
So maybe today, put your phone down for a little while and do something just for you.
Life is waiting outside the screen. β‘
