having weird on and off depression that manifests differently every time is crazy because one second im like no im not depressed, im still happy and laughing and smiling. i can’t be depressed.

but then i don’t want to wake up, and i don’t want to eat, and i don’t want to drink. i don’t want to read, or write, or draw. i don’t want to engage with my partner or even with our lovely child, or our cats, or my friends. i don’t want to go to work, but i also don’t want to go out to shop. none of the above interests me.

like i had to force myself to go out this morning and get donuts. because the thought of putting in any effort at all right now is so draining that id rather sleep on the couch instead of connecting with my daughter.

i spent so much of my adolescence depressed, but it was so different then. i cried constantly, self harmed, self sabotaged my relationships, and ruined my gpa. i wasn’t happy. now, i can experience joy, i can laugh and smile, but at the end of the day nothing really matters?

or maybe im just screen addicted like the rest of us. i don’t know. i wanted these thoughts out.
