read the rules and the about page you need (there are several verses but the two main are: one for characters from the Enchanted Forest or similar worlds and one for characters from our world/dc/marvel). Not canon Emma Swan nor wish!princess Emma from OUAT, which means knowledge of the show is not required - no curse, no Storybrooke, none of that in our world.

I’m not expecting people to re-follow me but I think it’s nice to let people know they’d be welcomed and I’m not like... ditching and changing identity lol also if you do re-follow and I follow back and we had verses, they still exist if you want them to continue. 

Jake snickered. “At least you, my Blonde Charles, are quite pretty. Can’t say the same about Charlie boy though…. Pretty? Nah.” He grinned, chuckling to himself as he listened to Emma talk about herself.

“I’ll never move on.” Jake promised, nodding along with her joke. Luckily though, they managed to escape. He breathed a sigh of relief before starting to jog, gesturing for her to follow. “You’re gonna love Mary’s. It’s all day breakfast tacos.”

“Emma Blanchard-Nolan. Lovely name.” Jake smiled again at her. Couldn’t seem to stop. “Yeah, I’m not intimidated. I’d try and clock you, but you would give me a run for my money, but I happen to like that a woman!” He explained jovially.

“I eat pizza for breakfast sometimes, and it’s usually cold from last night.” He started in on facts about himself. “I unironically have the name Jdawgcop on Twitter, because as a twelve year old I thought it was cool. Now of course, I know that it’s a little cheesy, but eh. I’ve kept it.” Shrug.

Pausing as he thought of what to say next as they walked, he continued.

“Uh, brief romance with an officer in my squad, but she got promoted so that’s done.” he made a face. “Now we’ve got the bromance between Boyle and me of course, but that rivals no woman.” He joked.

“Oh poor Charles, he’s cute! He has... uuhhh,” she hesitated - what were his physical qualities? - and then grabbed the first good thing she could think of: “Big eyes!”

 Emma grinned: “You assume I can fight but I could be a bounty hunter who just shoots at people... ah, well, my arms kinda give it away. But I appreciate the not trying to clock me all the same. Uh also I don’t shoot at people at random, as I should point out when talking to a detective...” 

Jake laughed. “OK gorgeous, whatever you insist upon.” he teased. “Blonde Charles will be your name, until you tell me your full name and the last four digits of your Social Security Number.” He said, seriously and then broke into a smile. “Kidding.”

“Come on then, don’t worry. I got your back. We’ll take some cookies here, and some soup — Charles loves it when I take his soup even if I just pour it down my drain later. And then we back out slowly.” Jake slowly whispered to Emma.

“But yeah, love you too wifey.”

He finished up grabbing some cookies, letting her grab the soup and led her out towards the door. Hopefully they wouldn’t be interrupted.

“Consider that you are saying you want to marry a blonde Charles and see if that sounds good enough to you,” Emma teased.  At least he also didn’t want to hurt Charles’ feelings, she had noticed not all Boyles were treated with kindness even if they were sweethearts.  “If we don’t make it out, go on without me, we don’t need to die together for this,” she whispered dramatically, careful not to look back as they were heading out. “Just remember me. Remember what we had.” 

Jake grinned at her. “Who says it’s a joke, Blonde Charles?” He said playfully. “You’re beautiful, funny, nice to kids, and you like Die Hard! How could I not shoot my shot?” he said.

“Oh my god. Are you suggesting that I like to eat?” he raised a wiggling eyebrow, grinning. “I mean, you wouldn’t be wrong. Surely this dad bod can tell you that.” He quickly amended as an older Boyle came by to get food as well.

“Right, no bagels. Got it.” he muttered. “Thanks.” he smiled at her. “What do you recommend, then? Or should we roll out of here?” He offered. “There is a great bakery down the street.”

“Please go on with the beautiful part, that’s the most important thing to me,” she joked with a straight face, and then started giggling again: “Blonde Charles...” she repeated, shaking her head.

“Dad bod, seriously?” she couldn’t stop grinning, even if the sight of the food meant danger now, “For your information if you can cosplay Die Hard and say a couple of lines I’m sold regardless of your body type, that’s just how it is.” 

“I think you’re the first person to ever attempt conversation with the Dark One.” He poofed up a drink for each of them, two golden chalices filled with pure water. “Just water.” He promised, though he knew she had no reason to believe it. Or him.

“You know… Maybe I’ll attempt a first too,” The Dark One said thoughtfully. “Depends on your attempt at the conversation. Can you keep up with me, dearie?” He challenged.

“Really? That’s so weird,” Emma asked with genuine surprise. Who wouldn’t at least try to talk to someone so powerful and mysterious? She took the water while chewing a bite of her sandwich, wondering if he didn’t at least have drinks with the Enchanted Forest official bad guys. 

Jake grinned wickedly at her statement. “Yeah! Love them too, but you’re right. Eating children is bad. Hear it’s called cannibalism, you know what that word means? Being FED UP with people!” He made a drum sound in the back of his throat to emphasize his joke.

Jake flashed Boyle a frown for being so suggestive when he had barely had time to meet Emma. Nonetheless, he grabbed Emma’s arm with his hand and stuck it under his shoulder. “Leggo, wifey.” he teased.

“I’m personally in favor of blowing the party up,” he offered, leading her to the buffet table with a smirk. “….I hear you like food. Well good news, Blonde Charles……”

“…..I come with excellent take out menus.”

She laughed at the joke, if only because of the drum sound he tried to make - alright, Charles hadn’t told him Jake was this funny. Or at least not this kind of funny, he was too starstruck to be clear.  “You better be careful about the marrying me joke because they really do think of me as a Boyle, and you know Boyles all want you to be part of the family. They will force you to marry me,” she pointed out giggling. 

Rumple didn’t look impressed at all by her words. “Well,” he carefully replied. “I did not move anywhere. Merely went on my way to bother the rest of the country.” he gave a trilling laugh.

As he ate the sandwich, he raised an eyebrow. “So who decided to tell you that you should actually make conversation with people? Strangers, no less.”

“Well, people did try to tell me to be careful about strangers and all that, but...” she shrugged to complete her sentence, uncovering her half of the sandwich, “Never claimed to be smart, after all. And I find days are so much fun when I just... talk to people. Sure, I’m supposed to be like ‘oh you are the Dark One, I’ll fight you’ but honestly? You are the Dark One, what’s the point of getting aggressive? It’s not like I can fight you to your face. And you are not attacking. Of course I could act all scared but then our conversation would go nowhere and that’s not going to help either of us, right? So I may as well be my normal me.” 

Jake let out a laugh, shaking his head almost fondly at the woman. “Interesting, interesting……” he thought it over, trying to decide on another question to ask her. He’d like to know more about her, he realised. “Eating is good, I love eating.” he offered with a dumb smile on his face. “Do it everyday.” he finished lamely.

“You cheer kids up! I do that too, sometimes. Get ‘em out of bad situations, at least. Try and make ‘em laugh.” Jake said excitedly.

Then he glared at Charles, all the while side eyeing Emma in wonder. “Charles Boyle, did you seriously come to this party, stand right in front of me, and miss a Die Hard reference?” he whined.

“God, it’s like I don’t know you.”

Turning back fully to Emma he nodded. “Yes, and wanna know something else I know? I think you might be my future wife.. It’s the best Christmas movie ever!” he exclaimed laughingly.

She laughed more when he found ways to expand on eating every day. “I love kids so much-not to eat! But making them laugh? Yeah! Probably comes easy because I’m still a kid in my head, but we don’t tell their parents that,” she grinned, and then watched with growing amusement as Jake reprimanded Charles - she got the feeling her sorta relative hadn’t exactly missed the reference as much as having realized she loved that movie like probably 90% of New York’s police people. Except him, maybe, poor Charles.

She wanted his name. The Dark One laughed, although he did disappear (and shortly thereafter reappeared) back onto the ground. “Ah dearie, didn’t anyone ever tell you not to be kind to a stranger?” He asked ironically.

Shrugging, he took the sandwich anyway. Might as well have a bite, even if it wasn’t the meat pie he’d grown up loving. “Names are too powerful a thing to just give one out.” he replied offhandedly.

“You may call me The Dark One.”

“Kinda the opposite,” she answered amusedly, and found even funnier that he had actually come down and accepted her food offering.  The Dark One - she thought him gone for good years ago. Of course Emma’s realization was immediately followed by words, even before thoughts about the situation started forming. “You helped my parents get married!”

Jake Peralta was frankly a little nervous to be meeting a cousin of Charles that was described as ‘a blonde Charles’. Scarier things had happened to him though, he shrugged, and smiled his way through it.

“Jake Peralta.” he shook Emma’s hand. “Good to meet you, you don’t look like Charles. Best that way, I think.” He gave Charles a classy smirk, wrapping an arm around his friend’s shoulder.

“So what do you like to do, Blonde Charles?”

Rumplestiltskin let out a haughty laugh at Emma’s suggestion. “Oh, well, for a half eaten sandwich I suppose—” he mocked, rolling his eyes. “No, something a bit more special I think.” He waited, wondering if she would try again.

“I am not scared,” The Dark One confirmed. “Just dramatic.”

As long as he owned it, there was nothing wrong with it, he smirked.

“And yes,” he added.

“The ocean is rather cold this time of year though.”

“How about you come down here and I’ll give you half anyway? Come on, it’s boring today, nobody to talk to,” she replied with a wide smile, putting the sword back in its sheat. Clearly he wanted something from her, and he wasn’t attacking her for it. It was worth taking some time off her little quest. And it wasn’t as if she could try to stab him right there and then anyway.
