yeah! and that reminds me of another thing at play here. which is the way that a lot of gay folks did not have the experience of good fathers—often we had the exact opposite experience with our father figures. and this gets translated into desires in many forms, including sexual. and then from there it gets integrated into our sex lives as kink, fetish, and just everyday sexual slang. this ranges from the very normie use of "daddy" to bandit bara to daddy dom play

the sexual attraction to fatherhood as a personality & set of behaviors is also not exclusive to queerness. cishet women are also attracted to thoughts of men being good fathers to their children. and this attraction can't be neatly separated from sexual attraction—they often literally have sex to make that fatherhood happen lol (and gay folks can also experience this want, sometimes explicitly expressed in gay sex as "breeding," getting "knocked up," "getting him pregnant" etc—not that everyone who says those things means it this way, but I think more do than consciously know it)

the idea that attraction can be cleanly divided into little categories that don't overlap is a myth. watching my partner be good with kids makes me love them, and feelings of love for them often also arouse me.* this is very typical, but in a society that makes sex something secret at best & shameful at worst, we don't think about it this way & we certainly don't talk about it
