Deuce: Hey, [Yuu]. Sorry, did I keep you waiting? I'm looking forward to today!
Deuce: …Guess you can tell how nervous I am, huh? I mean, 'cause this whole showcasing some part of the town thing's something a real honor student would take seriously.
Deuce: That's why I checked out a ton of videos and made sure to study up. Since I hafta, I'm going to make sure this goes well. I hope you can help me out.
[Yuu nods]
Deuce: Thanks. Okay, let's head into the sewing room to pick out today's outfit!
[Sewing Room]
Deuce: Woah… That's a lot of clothes…! It's kinda exciting, like we're in a department store!
Deuce: I'm gonna go ahead and pick out some clothes that'll make me look like a serious student, so wait a moment!
Deuce: …I've got a white, collared shirt, a light-blue jacket, and blue slacks. What do you think?
[Yuu shakes head]
Deuce: IT'S TOO SERIOUS THAT IT'S PLAIN!? I-I guess… Hmm, this is hard. Can I ask you for advice?
1. What about this jacket with pearls?
Deuce: Pearls, huh… I don't usually wear them, but that might be a good idea!
Deuce: I'll pick out the jacket that's got pearls on the collar… And maybe a necklace, too? Yeah, this seems nice!
2. What about fluorescent pink bottoms?
Deuce: I like the sound of that, but… It doesn't really feel like it'd be much different from what I'd wear in my room…
Deuce: I think it'd be better to find something a little sharper… [Yuu], help me find something good!
Deuce: How's this!? Thanks to your helping things out, it really came together well.
Deuce: After trying out all the different hairstyles, turned out that sweeping my bangs back is what felt the best. Kinda feels refreshing.
Deuce: I'm still a little embarrassed to be decked out in pearl necklaces and a fancy jacket…
[Yuu nods]
Deuce: But if you're saying it looks good, then there's definitely no bad choices here! Okay, let's head on out to film our video.
[Sage‘s Island – Foothill Town]
Deuce: We made it into town. Mmm, that wind feels good. It really feels like summer's almost here.
Deuce: It's this way to the filming spot. …Hey, huh? The poster out front the hamburger shop's changed.
Deuce: Ohh, this must be the limited time dish my classmate was talking about. It really does look good…!
Deuce: I heard that it's really popular. Why don't we all go and try it sometime soon?

Deuce: I remember when we tried studying there before, we couldn't get any work done at all. And we were all fired up, trying to study outside as a change of pace, and everything.
Deuce: Stuffing our bellies made us drowsy, and when we finally opened our textbooks, Ace just started droning on about some random thing or another…
Deuce: And right when I thought it'd quieted down and I could focus, Grim started shouting about how he was bored that there was no way any homework was getting done.
Deuce: But Ace got his done, somehow, anyway. Then, he just laughed at us like we were stupid for not finishing…
Deuce: …Hrrngh, talking about it brought that annoying face to mind. Let's just forget about him and talk about something else.
Deuce: Oh, we're here already, actually. I'll be introducing this shoe store today. Let's go inside.
Deuce: This shop has always taken real good care of me. That's why I thought I'd choose it as today's showcase… Oh, huh?
Leona: Huh, color me surprised when I saw some fancy getup walkin' in, but I see it's just you herbivores.
Deuce: Kingscholar-senpai!? Are you here to buy some shoes?
Leona: What, you think I came to a shoe shop to eat? I just find this place easy to deal with, since they'll just pick out something for ya if you tell 'em what you want.
Deuce: Is that so? Well, I'm not here to shop, I'm…
Leona: Based on that outfit, I'm sure it's for that showcase shoot. I don't care so long as you don't get in my way. Bye.
Deuce: There he goes…
Deuce: Just like Kingscholar-senpai said, we should do our best to not cause any problems for any of the other customers, either.
Deuce: Let's set up for the video while keeping that in mind. I'm counting on you, [Yuu].
[Yuu nods]

Deuce: I'M DEUCE SPADE FROM NIGHT RAVEN COLLEGE'S CLASS 1-A. PLEASED TO MAKE YOUR ACQUAINTANCE!
Deuce: Uhhh… I will be showcasing this shoe store today. Please take a look, they have a huge selection to choose from.
Deuce: And, if you consult with the staff, they'll really look into all sorts of things like your shoe size, shape of your feet, and other little details.
Deuce: Not only that, they'll take into account your favorite designs or your walking habits to select a shoe that fits you perfectly.
Deuce: Also… Umm… Oh, I remember! I also recommend their shoe repair service.
[camera turns off]
Deuce: Wh-What do you think, [Yuu]? Urgh, I look so stiff.
Deuce: I'd love to explain more about their shoe repair services, but I feel like my explanation alone wouldn't do it justice… Hrrrm…
Deuce: …Oh, yeah! I was thinking I'd ask to get something repaired while I was here doing this video, so I had brought some shoes with worn out soles.
Deuce: If I used this to show how the whole shoe repair process, don't you think that'll show just how amazing the whole thing is in one go?
[Yuu nods]
Deuce: Yeah! Okay, let's go ask for a repair and if they'd let us film it. Uhhh, I wonder where the shopkeeper is…
Deuce: Oh, there they are. Excuse me!
[Deuce runs off]
Leona: Tch… Well, that sucks. Looks like they beat me to the punch while I was looking around the shop.
Leona: Hey, you better get the filming over painlessly, you hear? If you don't… You know what'll happen, right?
Deuce: Whew. I was able to get permission to film the repairs… Eh, Kingscholar-senpai?
Deuce: [Yuu], what happened…? Ohhh, I see, I see! I'm sorry, I'll finish up quickly and get out of your way as soon as I can.
Deuce: Okay, [Yuu], film the repairs for me.
[camera turns on]
Deuce: We are now at the workshop in the back of the shop! We'll now have them repair the shoes I often wear.
Deuce: Please keep an eye on just how beautiful the shoes look after the storekeep works their repair skills!
Leona: Are they replacing the soles? How are you normally wearing those for them to wear out that badly?
Deuce: Eh, is that too strange? This happens all the time to me.
Deuce: When I peeked into this store in the past, the store manager took a look at my shoes and suggested a replacement.
Deuce: They told me that "Instead of buying new shoes, if you just replace the soles, it'll be cheaper and you can wear them for longer,"…
Deuce: After getting a repair once, it just felt so comfortable to wear that I started coming back regularly to get sole replacements.
Leona: Were you in the track and field club, again? Maybe all that wear and tear comes down to how you use your feet.
Deuce: Oh, maybe that's part of it. Do you think it would wear down less if I changed how I walk?
Leona: Who knows? Can't really compare how us beastmen and you humans walk, so.
Deuce: True. But then that makes me want to ask the difference in wear between Jack and your athletic shoes.
Leona: Hah. Pretty sure you'll end up realizing that it's not the shoes that matter, but the person wearin' 'em.
Deuce: That'd be great to see…! Oh, yes, Manager? Huh, there's more sole options? I can choose one?
Deuce: This one has more cushion, and this one's grippier…? And this one's a lighter version?
Deuce: Eh, you'll let me pick my insoles for free, too? And there's a ton of materials and colors to choose from!?
Deuce: Ehhh, what should I do? Which one works best for me? Should I change what I usually use since I'm given the opportunity…!?
Leona: Hey, stop tryin' to decide between all that nonsense with that empty head of yours. Just get the shopkeep to give a recommendation, like usual.
Deuce: Ah! You're right, that's the best option… I'll go with whatever you recommend, thank you!
Deuce: …Take a look at these sneakers! My worn down soles are back to normal. They look completely new!
Deuce: I hope you all can swing by this shop, not only to buy shoes, but to also get your favorite shoes worked on.
[camera turns off]
Deuce: …Whew. That should be all, right? How was it, [Yuu], did it come out good?
[Yuu nods]
Leona: That shopkeep really knew what they were doing. Thanks to our young test subject here, I got confirmation that I'd feel comfortable leaving my shoes in their hands.
Deuce: A test subject…? Ah, but I should say thank you. Because you were here, our video project went smoothly, and I got some good shoes out of it.
Deuce: So, Kingscholar-senpai, if you're interested… Would you like to join us at the patisserie after this?
Leona: Is that why you were waiting for me to finish shopping? Heh. Fine, I'll gladly tag along as a little break.

Deuce: Woah, this shop's so fancy. There's so many sweets prepared, too. Oh!
Deuce: This must be the special jelly treat made just for me. There's whole chunks of grapefruits covered in syrup.
Deuce: [chomp] Looks like the outside is a soda-flavor. It's such a crisp flavor. Okay, next… I'm gonna try this egg pudding.
Deuce: Oh, please dig in, Kingscholar-senpai! And you too, [Yuu]!
Leona: Sure, if you insist. Oh, but before that… Happy Birthday, Deuce.

F. Leona picks you up after class

🍂 “I knew you would be here,” you teased, peeking outside the doorway of your last class of the day, Animal Languages. Everyone in your class, including Grim, had already left, but you stayed behind for a few minutes since Leona texted you that he’d come pick you up.
🍂 Leona leaned against the wall next to the doorway with his arms crossed, all casual-like as if he just happened to be there.
🍂 “It wounds me that you’d think I wouldn’t show up on time, herbivore,” Leona shot you his smug, easy-going grin, which grew into a genuine grin at the sight of you. “How was class?”
🍂 “Superrrrr boring,” you groaned as you walked out from your classroom. You took his hand and the two of you walked through the bustling hallway filled with students chatting about their weekend plans. “Professor Trein sure gets really passionate about cat languages. He spent the entire class time talking about that instead of the other animal languages we were supposed to learn. How was the dorm Magift practice?”
🍂 You noticed that Leona wore a thick brown coat over his short-sleeved marigold PE uniform shirt and black track pants. Strands of his dark-brown mane escaped from his loose ponytail and the side of his neck glistened with sweat. He must’ve come to pick you up straight after the practice, and the thought of that warmed your heart even more.
🍂 “Good, we made progress today,” Leona yawned, exhausted from the hardcore practice. Magift was a big deal to him, and the fact that his Savanaclaw members were improving was a testament to the members’ hard work and his leadership. “Though we still have a long way to go if we wanna win next year’s interdorm tournament.”
🍂 You used your free hand to wave back at fellow students who spotted you and Leona. “I bet you will. Are we going back to my dorm or your dorm?”
🍂 “Let’s go somewhere, just you and me,” Leona brought your hand holding his into his brown coat pocket to keep your hand warm as the two of you stepped out of the building. “The Botanical Garden’s closer and I need a nap.”
🍂 “Ok,” you gave his fingers a loving squeeze, to which he reciprocated with a gentle squeeze of his own.
🍂 A few minutes later, you and Leona stepped through the glass doors of the Botanical Garden. You felt transported back in time as you noticed that the current flowers and green plants in the garden retained the same colors and shapes despite the fall season, thanks to the NRC botanists and Science Club members.
🍂 Outside the glass dome of the Botanical Garden, the campus’s barren charcoal trees with barely-there orange and amber leaves of fall stood tall, contrasting the abundant plant life in the Botanical Garden.
🍂 Leona led you over to his secret spot just behind the giant viridian bushes. In a matter of seconds, the lion beastman already had his arms folded behind his head as he rested comfortably onto the soft grass.
🍂 “I didn’t realize how much I missed seeing the plants here until now,” Leona hummed, inhaling the familiar earthy scent of soil and the lighter floral scents of the flowers around the two of you.
🍂 You laid down next to Leona. His dark-brown bangs, still beaded with drops of sweat from practice earlier, fell over his eyes and clung to his forehead. You brought your hand up to brush the strands away from his forehead and eyes.
🍂 “Now that you mention it, we haven’t been here in a while,” you realized how the fall season kept you and Leona busy with schoolwork and individual extracurriculars.
🍂 The dropping temperatures of autumn and the occasional rainfalls in recent weeks which signified an incoming change to winter also kept you and Leona indoors more, so there weren’t many chances to visit the Botanical Garden as much as the two of you did during spring and summer.
🍂 “We haven’t gone anywhere outside of school lately,” Leona mused, wrapping an arm around your waist as you rested your head on his chest.
🍂 You sighed in content, hearing his heart’s steady beats and the gentle vibrations of his breathing that rumbled through his chest. With the peacefulness of it all, Leona closed his eyes to take a nap. “We should go out for dinner tonight,” you suggested.
🍂 “It’s freezin’ outside,” Leona cracked an emerald eye open, grimacing at the thought of going out in the cold weather.
🍂 “You’re right,” you twirled a strand of Leona’s mane with your finger. “Maybe we should stay in at Savanaclaw tonight. Order a pizza?”
🍂 “Sounds good to me,” Leona mumbled, planting a kiss onto the top of your head. “Half Meat Lover’s for me, half (your favorite pizza topping) for you?”
🍂 “You got it,” you reached up to kiss the tip of his nose. You then shifted off of Leona to lay parallel next to him on the grass. “I can’t wait for spring to come so that we can travel to more places.”
🍂 “What places do ya have in mind?” Leona inquired as the two of you tipped your eyes and chins up to watch the burnt-orange and lavender sunset turning into a ebony-purple sky outside the Botanical Garden’s transparent glass dome.
🍂 “I really want to go to that famous restaurant at Port Jubilee known for its gumbo and beignets,” your eyes sparkled at the thought of getting to travel more throughout Twisted Wonderland with Leona. “And then there’s the floating lanterns festival in that small kingdom in the Land of Pyroxene…”
🍂 Leona listened as you continued to list all the places you wanted to travel to with him. His eyes shifted from the sunset to focus on your starry eyes. Leona imagined all the sights the two of you would see in your future travels together, and how your eyes would sparkle even more at the new places the two of you had yet to explore.
🍂 He might call himself cheesy for it, but Leona loved seeing the world through your eyes. Maybe it was because you came from an entirely different world, but Twisted Wonderland seemed brighter, more beautiful—as if touched by your light—whenever you were by his side.
🍂 “…Leona?” your voice brought Leona out of his thoughts. Your eyes were now staring back into his. “Are you ok?”
🍂 “You looked so cute talking about the places you want us to visit together,” Leona smirked, still gazing at you. “I couldn’t help but stare.”
🍂 “Oh, you,” your cheeks warmed. Leona always knew how to make you flustered, even more so when you knew he was telling the truth. “Is there any place where you want to go, Leona?”
🍂 As a prince, Leona travelled to many countries in Twisted Wonderland for diplomatic or celebratory events with his family ever since he was a cub. However, there were still places throughout Twisted Wonderland Leona had yet to explore, and he wanted to explore them with you.
🍂 “Haven’t been to Port Jubilee yet, and I do want to check out that restaurant you were talking about,” Leona winked at you. “There’s also this city I haven’t been to yet known for their cutting-edge technology. Did ya know that they have marshmallow-like robots programmed to act as caretakers?”
🍂 “We should definitely go to the Port Jubilee restaurant for a special dinner someday soon,” you rested your head against the crook of Leona’s neck as his tail snaked around your leg. “That city you mentioned also sounds really cool. ‘Marshmallow-like robots programmed to act as caretakers,’ those sound so cute and efficient at the same time.”
🍂 You and Leona continued to lay on the grass in the Botanical Garden, surrounded by the abundant greenery as the two of you planned out your travels together for next year’s spring and summer.
🍂 Above you and Leona, a flock of birds traveling in a v-shape dotted the sky as they got a head start on their “vacation” to warmer places.

Little notes:
- The “city known for their cutting-edge technology” that has “marshmallow-like robots programmed to act as caretakers” is a reference I made to San Fransokyo and Baymax from Big Hero 6 hehe
- I also made references to Tiana’s restaurant “Tiana’s Palace” from The Princess and The Frog and the kingdom of Corona from Tangled ;)
