She shows up in quiet places. Forest clearings, empty playgrounds, anywhere that feels a little forgotten.

Always sitting neatly. Always still. Like she’s been told to behave.

Mirei collects small things, bells, ribbons, little charms. She doesn’t take them by force. People tend to give them to her. Or leave them behind. It’s hard to say which.

At first she seems soft. A bit off, maybe, but gentle. Easy to stay near.

Then you notice the smile.

It stretches just a little too far. And the teeth don’t quite make sense.

She doesn’t chase anyone. Never has to.
