Because I need to have this organized somewhere:

My father: well maybe if he wasn't annoying as fuck...

My father: Death in the family, The long Halloween, Death of the family, Red Son, that one comic where Batman makes Dick eat a rat...

Me: Red Robin, Young Justice 98, A lonely place of Dying, Wayne family adventures, Batgirl (Cassandra Caine), Nightwing, The Boy Wonder...

Yes, I hate Jack Drake, I don't think he's a good parent and I defend the idea that Tim started to see Bruce as a father figure even before Jack's death, but he loved Tim, and viceversa.

Jack loved his son, but he's a negligent father that never truly tried in his day to day life to be a parent. He would talk to Tim and tell him in special moments how much he loves him and he's going to try, to then never actually do it and threat Tim to ship him to a privet school the moment there's a problem. Panels like when Jack says he's going to be a better parent starting tomorrow and Tim looks disappointed, or Tim bruning a letter that said 'to the father I never had' or saying that he didn't know what a real family was until he met Dick, Alfred and Bruce.

That's what I think it's really interesting about their dynamic, the fact that the love was there, but it changed nothing. Tim is a product of neglect, one pretty heavy (he was runing around gotham at night for god's sake), but one that never reached extreme levels or physical abuse.

I feel empty. He never left me alone during an anxiety attack, he always welcomed me home with joy after a bad shift at the bar, he slept at the feet of my bed and made me feel loved.
