A presence floats, unseen and heard, beside the lad for a moment, curious and concerned. After a minute or so of silence, a decision is made, and the presence moves to the entrance of the room before becoming real and knockinge gently. --N

The soft knocking did little to stir Virgil. He didn’t want whoever was on the other side to come in, but he didn’t have the voice to tell them so. Instead, he just kept quiet, burying his face in the blanket as he knelt on the floor by the bed, curling his arms further around his head to block out the light.

If he was quiet enough, perhaps whoever it was would assume him asleep and leave him be.

A small smile graced the face of the robed figure past the door, though there is little mirth in the expression. Poor thing. The waves of misery emanating from the room were practically palpable.

"Virgil? Might I speak with you for a moment?" She knocked on the door once more, doing her best to send forth her own aura of peace to counteract the stew of unhappiness wafting under the door.
