"On Thursday, May 1st, 18-year-old Ryan Hinton was shot and killed by Cincinnati police as he ran away. The family reviewed police body camera footage on Friday morning. Ryan's father, Rodney Hinton Jr, then killed deputy Larry Henderson by hitting him with his car.

At Rodney's hearing, police filled the courtroom leaving no room for Rodney and Ryan's family and friends or members of the community. Rodney's brother was removed when he tried to get closer to the window to see his brother. As Rodney was walked out, he kept his head high as police stared him down.

Rodney now remains in jail without bond while he awaits trial on a murder charge. The system never acts this quickly when police kill. Most the time, it doesn't act at all. The killing of that cop is what justice looks like in an unjust world.

I hope Rodney and Ryan's family has an outpouring of local support right now. There is a GoFundMe set up to honor Ryan Hinton's memory and seek justice. Cincinnati police had the first one taken down, so I assume this one won't last much longer either, but it's nice to see the goal nearly met."
