I am happy to have completed my first day of serving as Judge of Elections for the 49th Precinct in Ferguson Township yesterday! This day would not have been successful without our wonderful volunteers and Inspectors Sandra Park-Callaghan and Kevin Brooks who assisted me throughout the day! And thanks to Madison and the Discovery Space staff for being so accommodating by allowing us to utilize Your space as Our poll location! On December 29th, 1998, I gave birth to my 3rd Beautiful Baby Girl only 10 months after giving birth to my 2nd daughter. I realized sometime later the meaning behind the phrase, “Be careful of what You pray for, because You just might get it.” It was then that the prayer I prayed to God when I was 12 years old, “That God would bless me to have triplets all of whom would have unique names.” Even though my goals and interests changed, life happened and I was focused on my career. I ended up having 3 beautiful daughters all of whom were given unique names by their dad my 1st husband. Today, I am most honored to be the mother of my 3 beautiful babies. Although my relationships with each of my daughters are different and special, I really appreciate the things I’ve learned as my daughter’s mother. Ajane’, this 23rd year of Your birth has proven how strong You are and how strong Our faith is when faced with what seems like the ultimate tests. I have watched and marveled over the way the Lord has blessed You to champion every obstacle that comes Your way even when You felt defeated. You never cease to amaze me. I watch with earnest admiration while cheering You on as You relentlessly press, and fight each day against the inherited health challenges as a result of Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. You have proven time and time again just as Your grandmother Captain Doctor Minister Tommye Holliday during her battle with MCTD that with God You are resilient and more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus Our Lord! I will forever be Your loudest cheerleader and #1 fan. As long as I’m Your Mother You will NEVER have to fight alone. I will ALWAYS be there to fight with You!
