Chapter Excerpt -

“We’re here.” 

Frisk didn’t move. Stuck to her seat. Her gaze was fixed on the rear view mirror. Staring at a blanket of black ice covering the distant road behind them. It reflected the sky so perfectly, it was like the vast blue had found a way to invade even the earth. She felt trapped beneath it. An endless cerulean dome that surrounded her on all sides, not a single cloud to break it up. Blinding and stark. 

Finally she peeled her eyes away from the road. 

The Dreemurr house stood in the midst of the blue sky, consumed by it. 

Frisk sucked in a weary breath. She glanced across at Ibrahim, and did her best to swallow her nerves. 

“Are you ready?” he asked. 

She squeezed his fingers, then nodded curtly. The car doors popped open. Instantly they were greeted by the faint singing of windchimes. The lovers, arm in arm, made their way down the driveway. With each step closer to that house, she could feel her heart beating faster. Louder. Until her blood was roaring in her ears. 

So loud, she could hardly hear her fist banging against the eggplant-purple door. There was an embarrassingly long beat where nothing happened. Both Frisk and Ibrahim shared a wayward glance, and Frisk wondered if he was thinking the same thing; let’s just go. Now. Now before we’re—

The front door swept open. There, taking up nearly the entire doorframe; Toriel. Her velvety paws clung to a muted, purple cardigan. Her dark eyebags were almost successfully hidden behind her thick seeing glasses. 

“Frisk. You came…” She sounded confused. Like she wasn’t expecting her to show up after all. Or maybe… she wishes I hadn’t. She wondered, briefly… if she had failed some test.

🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

Here... Is a little sneak peak into the next TMDG chapter...

[Frisk] drank in the Dreemurr’s home all at once. The home she'd denied herself. A home that never belonged to her, and a family she had no claim on. 

Yellow walls. Purple stripes. Shag carpet. Dried bouquets of dead daisies and shrunken marigolds sat upon every surface… photos… turned against the wall. 

There was only one word to describe it. 

Desolate. 

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

Spite, boredom and DETERMINATION... To have stories told my way.

Okay actually it was because when I was 10 years old, I was obsessed with Leonardo the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and wanted him carnally, but that's neither here nor there.

💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

Hmm. Okay this one goes deep. DEEP into my subconscious. It's shown up in pretty much all of my serious fics — Corruption Arcs.

They are SO juicy. This is going to sound super edgy but bear with me — there is something about stripping a character, slowly, of their morals/convictions. Bringing them to a breaking point. What HAS to happen for them to change for the worse? How does it reflect in their personality, how they treat people? Oooo especially if it's a corruption arc that turns into a redemption in the end, or the character somehow manages to overcome their circumstances!? I love it. Love it!!!

🤔 Would you ever want to write something canon if you got the opportunity?

I've had some forays into canon compliance — my break up AU, while not 100% canon accurate (doesn't have resets or game mechanics, mostly because I don't like writing them) does happen to be my take on a canon game story. Check it out HERE if you're interested.

HOWEVER, the more interested I become in Deltarune the more ideas I have for a completely canon compliant Frans fic that plays on the Player being a canonical entity possessing the human characters — and how that might play out in an Obsession style storyline between Sans and Frisk. Just an idea I had last night, if the iron is hot I may strike. You never know.

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

That there will always be an audience for an idea you have, even if it's small. If you had an idea that you liked, chances are there's another freak out there who will read it and will be thrilled someone finally had the guts to bring the idea to life.

🚦What sort of endings do you prefer to write; ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?

I prefer to write bittersweet endings that leave the door open for interpretation. Or just straight up mind boggling ambiguous endings (can you tell David Lynch is my fav Director?)

❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

From TMDG, Chapter 17—

[Frisk] lifted the rock high into the sky, her body reeling from the force like she were bound to worship this ceaseless violence for forever! Bound to this inescapable fate. And the face beneath her was twisted in its viscera.

I just love this passage so much, it's so visceral.

📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?

I GOTTA GLAZE @saejaydoesthings ! I GOTTA KEEP GLAZING HER FIC, “Would You Be So Kind”, a fic where Sans capitulates to dating Frisk purely bc it might be the one thing keeping her from resetting.

It's so smart! (And it also is a big inspo to that Obsession style canon compliant fic I just floated, so definitely check it out)
