We are so excited to be able to say that we sold out in less than 48 hours!
When we started TZD, the simple idea was to celebrate 60 years of K/S. Six decades of Star Trek. Six decades of fans finding each other and asking “You see it too, right?”
Now, somehow, in the year 2026, we have a brand-new zine with every copy sold, ready to be sent out into the world.
Thank you to all of our contributors who helped make TZD such an incredible zine. This project could not have happened without you! We also want to thank the fandom foremothers who wrote stories, drew art, organized conventions, made zines, built communities, and kept going when it wasn't easy. We've walked in your footsteps the best we can, and all we can say is that our respect for everything you did has multiplied exponentially.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves facing a lot of the same struggles you did. Fandom spaces are shrinking. Platforms that once felt permanent suddenly aren't. Censorship, ridicule, bigotry, and the assertion that some stories shouldn't be told (or that certain people shouldn't be allowed to tell them) are alive and well.
But somewhere along the way, someone looked at Kirk and Spock and decided to write a story. Someone else read it. Someone decided to spend hours drawing them. Someone made a zine. Someone kept that zine safe. And then, many years later, someone found it and decided they wanted to make something too.
... And the rest is history!
This is how a community gets from one anniversary to the next. Thank you for helping us carry the torch a little further and, from the bottom of our tired little hearts, thank you for selling this thing out in LESS THAN 48 HOURS!!!
Soon we will boldly shift to Phase Three: getting zines in hands. We'll be back with updates as we get everything packaged and sent out into the world, but until then, as always...
