how do i even begin! @beloved-icarus made several contributions to TZD in addition to their full page romance novel cover (hehe) such as beautiful borders, titles, and marginalia! the detail and technique used to shade and design everything he makes is so incredibly impressive and we're beyond thrilled to have him sailing with us!!!

✴︎ What is your “specialty," or favorite thing to draw?

I do love clinch covers and advertising art, but I feel like I've become rather good at redrawing/reimagining screencaps.

✴︎ What is something you've made that you're particularly proud of and why?

My comic Hurt, which won a Philon Award in 2025 :)

✴︎ How has it felt to be a contributor in a fanzine?

It's so great to be part of such a big project and connect with other artists! Making fanart in a global online fan community can feel lonely at times - i work alone, post alone, and just hope that an unknown stranger will pick up my work and then tell me about it as well. So working with an author to make illustrations for them was something I REALLY loved!

Fun! Having fun for no other reason than having fun!

I am terribly afraid (for reasons) that I will one day meet one of my professors in K/S spaces...

@dogearedfriends's has such a soft, sweet style of art. we are so thrilled to have her as a member of the crew all the way from sweden- especially to do an illo for our amazing missing scene from the Sha Ka Ree universe! we couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit for such an imaginative alien world <3

Rewatching the movies again and I can feel myself becoming a certified Kirk-girl in real time.

✴︎ What is your “specialty," or favorite thing to draw?

Big fan of making up planets, both in visual art and writing! I love coming up with flora and fauna, natural phenomena, cultures, all that jazz.

✴︎ What is something you've made that you're particularly proud of and why?

My first ever trek fanfic To Eat an Elephant!

I'm still so proud of just... making the leap I suppose! It's not the best thing I've ever written, but writing for star trek was something completely different to writing in any other fandom I'd been in, and in hindsight a little daunting, so I'm very glad I worked up the nerve to write technobabble and interstellar politics! It was so very worth it.

INCREDIBLE! You know that post that's like "this is what writing star trek fanfiction is like" and it's a picture of Aang looking back at all the past avatars? Spot on.

I've read sixteen TOS tie-ins so far! Some of them were... questionable, but I really enjoyed the whole lost years saga and the entropy effect!

a joyous occasion… they make me sad. I left a bunch of little secrets in there, you can find the explanations below the cut!! This is technically TOS but I used the designs of Tprings parents from SNW since that's the only visual reference point I had of them so that works too in a way. ID LIKE TO THANK @jennelikejennay FOR HELPING ME WITH THE CALLIGRAPHY AGAIN!!!

The only thing that makes it better is the similarity to another piece that I adore from Vault of Tomorrow fanzine published 40 years ago... right down to the three panels and everything. This fandom is always reconnecting with itself. It's so beautiful.
