Welcome to the #SuccessIs Project
Success.
People write about it, read about it, worry about it. I want to TALK about it.
I firmly believe that we- as living, breathing individuals of an over-stimulated, highly interconnected culture- collectively hold the power that defines success. So let’s do just that.
Screw awards, accolades, shiny things and green paper in our pockets. What about coming out of your shell (or commitment phobia, or whatever) to form a new, deep relationship? What about just making it out of bed in the morning on a shitty, snowy day to a job you kind of hate but need, just right now, just ‘til you’ve saved up enough. What about remembering to call your grandma once a week and hearing the just-barely-controllable excitement in her voice that chokes you up every time? What about having the courage to speak up on behalf of a mistreated stranger? I think these are some of the truest successes I know.
Stop letting your perception of the priorities around you determine the successes you seek and the failures you dread. When we let someone else dictate the rubric of our lives and dreams, we lose control of the amazing agency we have as human beings to define ourselves and our environment.
Define yourself. Create the world and culture we want to live in. Set a new trend for what #SuccessIs.
