A Change in Leadership
Leaving the office in silence, Chrih made her way to Aros and swiftly set about leaving the makeshift camp that had been set up in Nazmir, concealed by sight by the thick foliage that made up the land. Rage boiled beneath the surface, though there was nothing more than a neutral expression on her features. The only tell of her anger was the way her new orders had been crumpled in the tight grip of her hand, crushing the rolled up paper.
Who were they to question her ‘methods?’ Several of those in the room had done far worse than she had, and she’d been on the fighting side of the Alliance since landing on Azeroth. This is where it had gotten her.
Betrayed. Again.
She’d been foolish enough to think her team would have her back, and in most cases they did. But Aelmir had gone behind her and convinced each of them to submit a complaint of her actions since arriving in Boralus. The team she’d led for over two years. It had to have been Aelmir. Right? Doubts began to rise, and it took all she had not to find and confront each and every one of them.
Relieved of her position as acting leader, she took off towards the waiting boat that would take her back to Boralus, hands tightly gripping the leather reigns attached to her talbuk.
The warning and instruction of ’don’t fuck this chance up’ had been given before she left, and she saw the disappointment written on her Commander’s face. That hurt her more than being relieved of her leadership of her own unit.
Despite her anger and embarrassment, Chrih was loyal. She’d take the opportunity given, her pride not allowing to show her true emotions at the state of things.
An esoteric unit led by an individual she didn’t know, didn’t trust. Now, she was to meet with the man who was her partner in one week’s time.
Who was this Declan Curnow, anyway?
@declan-curnow
Declan Curnow hummed lightly to himself as he attached the last capacitor to the miniature motherboard of the mechanical device that whirred in front of him.
The dimly lit room that contained his form smelled of oil, engine grease, ash and long-since dissipated smoke that clung along the walls and ceiling. The room smelled of progress. Of new hopes and creation but most importantly - of engineering.
Slow, steady, lime-green eyes caught the fire of the nearby flickering light of the nearby candle as the large fur-covered hands pressed the male end of a connector to that of the female end that was held conjoined in the contraption. With fingers moving aside to a stack of papers, those eyes scanned across each of the leaflets that were each bound with the official crest of the Alliance.
Pausing, the worgen moved to finger through each parchment until he found what he was looking for and once he did, he let out a low, raspy growl of a chuckle.
So, you’ve come to join me in a band of misfits and…I. I’m to be your leader?
Slowly, the fingers of his massive fur-covered hands clasped to place the casing on top of his newest invention and once done, it released a small audible pop that made sheer satisfaction pull along the tight lips that revealed his maw of razors.
Scooping the device up and into his hand, Declan slowly slinked out of the recently ‘liberated’ goblin outpost and stepped through the windblown, sandblasted stone Zandalari ruin and made his way out of the structure with his orders and files in hand.
Once away, he turned to view the ruin from a distance and watched as a loud and sudden thud resounded through the valley, causing a plume of smoke, sand, dust and debris to fly up into the whipping winds of Vol'dun. Glancing then to the direction of a safe harbor, the worgen chuckled.
Boralus it is then…Ch-…Chrih? How the fel are ya 'posed to say that anyway?

Chrih
(Pronounced: Cree)
Chrih is an Alliance loyalist, working as an (unoffocial) operative during past wars, and the one we find ourselves in currently. Previously an Auchenai Soulbinder (freed before locked in the tunnels of Auchindoun), she has trained over the centuries in necromancy and shadow magic, but has a deep fear of allowing those magics to drive her mad and since has (mostly) given up the use of such abilities. Now, she uses/manipulates her own energy, and the energy of others, to take down her foes in behalf of the Alliance.
While I will take her to the city IC on rare occasions, she is mainly found out in the world. A lot of the game play done in the world OOC will be taken IC. I have no intentions of making her a hero of the Alliance, but she absolutely is out there hunting Horde warbands, taking down trolls, and blowing things up on specific Alliance missions. Chrih is lawful neutral (for now), and has the view that as long as her deeds are carried out in a manner that benefits the Alliance and the war they're in, then anything is acceptable.
Chrih has a strong hatred for orcs and blood elves, and will hopefully be highlighted in several RP/stories planned. I can't wait to delve further into the character and move further into RP! I've never had the opportunity to really get in with the current in-game world story due to the characters I wrote, so I'm really looking forward to Chrih.
The Gift of Eternal Silence
Nazmir
"We can't just leave them like this, Chrih."
Amelir's softened voice cut through the Draenei's thoughts, causing her to blink as she stared at the struggling body of the troll who'd been strung up to the pillar she now stood in front of. Her hand closed around the ancient coins she’d found and had been twirling over each of her gloved digits.
As she kept her gaze on the troll, his hands clawed at the rope that was tied around his neck, while the tips of his stubby toes just barely touched and scraped against the dirt covered ground to stop his life from ending, at least for as long as get strength remained. His tusks had been broken at the base, and violent bruises covered his nude body. A punishment, she had been informed, and when she took a slow look around the encampment it seemed this particular punishment had been carried out several times.
Looking back up at the body, Chrih finally responded, her husky voice just as quiet as Amelir's had been. "They are enemies of the Alliance, are they not?" The soulbinder didn't see the look of disgust that appeared on her partner's face, those smooth elvish features twisting in a combined look of horror and anger.
"We are not monsters," Amelir hissed, her tone touching on the anger that had begun to rise at the typical display Chrih showed. "Showing compassion does not make us weak. We should cut them down and give them mercy, ending their lives swiftly instead of like this." Amelir spat out the words as she motioned towards the troll, then turned and walked away from her partner without bothering to wait for a response.
Several minutes passed while the rest of their team made quick work of the bodies that had been dispatched, a pile in the center of the camp now ready to be torched. Turning now, Chrih looked towards her team and gave a single nod. No time was wasted, and the torches in their hands were tossed on the bloody pile.
Once the task was complete and the putrid stench of burning flesh permeated the air, her team gathered in front of her. Some shared the same view as she, others the same as Amelir. Or so she believed.
Looking up at the body one last time, the troll made eye contact. She could see the reflection of the dancing flames of the nearby fire in his eyes and thought maybe there was a bit of pleading behind the pained expression his features held. "Let them hang," she ordered. They'd be dead before any assistance arrived, if any at all. The soulbinder saw the despair in his eyes before turning away.
She didn't hear the whispers behind her or the exchange of looks as pocketed the coins and began to leave, knowing the group would follow. They left just as swiftly and silently as they arrived.
Another task carried out on behalf of the Alliance, another enemy cut down. The gift of eternal silence had been given, hopefully giving them one more step towards victory.
