Close your eyes and then imagine Rod having to explain to his Master why and how he concluded that it would be a good idea to lie about Voldemort having a bastard child with Bellatrix, who was his loyal Death Eater and also Rod's wife...

The absurd of this scenarios always makes me laugh.

I know some people say Rodolphus was trying to "honor" Voldemort by lying. I don't know, guys. It might just be me, but lying that your boss had a child with your wife sounds like the opposite of trying to honor somoene.

Then I also remember reading about the possibility that, since Voldemort helped the Lestranges with their infertility problem, Rodolphus didn't felt worthy of being Delphi's father... Yes, the humble Lestrange family is often implied to feel unworthy of their Master's graces.

What an odd choice of words for this question, anon. Did you notice what you did there while writing it? 👀

I'll give you a tip: it's the words "intelligent" and "deny"... But I'll leave this for you to unpuzzle, since apparently Bellamort deniers are the "more intelligent" side of the fandom.

As I've said before: Bellamort is not a ship for everyone to enjoy. No one is obliged to like or ship them. I highly respect those who acknowledge them as canon, and simply dislike them as a couple. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. I respect their criticism and their right not to ship Bellamort, as long as they respect my decision to ship them. And honestly, they can often provide interesting counterpoints that I haven't considered as a shipper. Those conversations, I find very welcome.

Now, Bellamort deniers? That's a different topic.

Do I get sad? No. My baseline in life is usually happy, anon, so making me feel sad is a hard achievement, especially for strangers online.

More often than not, I find Bellamort deniers behavior funny. They ship other couples, and yet they prefer wasting their time on Bellamort's shippers posts and profiles.

If Bellamort fandom is so obviously wrong, so intellectually beneath deniers, and so unworthy of their intelectual debate, why does it apparently require so much of their attention? It's not a very intelligent use of their time and effort, is it?

The reason I don't go attacking other ships in the main fandom is because I don't care about them. I have my opinions and I'm vocal about those opinions, but I won't waste my time going to their profiles to try getting a reaction out of them. From what I've seen, that's usually how the Bellamort fandom is treated: deniers come looking for us while we're generally just minding our own business. I consider this strange, at best.

Personally, I prefer to engage with people who also ship Bellamort. I can engage in plenty of topics and disagree with people (that's my line of work, actually), but when it comes to my personal time and entertainment, my energy is better spent among people with whom I already share something in common. In this case, Bellamort.

And about the "as long as they fuck" part: no. I don't think the interpretation of their relationship can or should be reduced to sexual terms. There is more to Bellamort than sex, and that's why I ship them.

What is perfectly fine on my end is simply for Bellamort deniers to leave me - and other Bellamort shippers - in peace to ship them, and for them to spend their time and energy on the ships they actually prefer without degrading Bellatrix or Voldemort in the process, which is completely possible.
