Me having a roof over my head is not a privilege. Me being able to go to school is not a privilege. Me having food on my table is not a privilege. Me having reliable assess the running water is not a privilege. These are all rights. As a person of value (which you get simply from being alive btw. No one should earn their right to live, you are alive and life is valuable, so you are valuable) I require things like food and water and shelter to survive. In our modern world, we have made advancements that make electricity a big part of our lives, whether through using the internet, cooking or just showering with hot water, so I have a right to entitle myself to electricity as well. I deserve good things that improve my quality of life without the detriment of others. Everyone deserves life of that quality.

If you can't afford to boycott a place because Walmart is the cheapest store you know and you can't drive out of town because your only form of transport is your car and paying extra gas money to go to a more ethical store means you won't even be able to buy anything there or your bills are gonna have to go unpaid and the electricity's shutting off, that's not just being underprivileged. That's the system denying you of your inherent rights to a good quality of life. Your human rights are being violated.

i’ve seen post after post about “white queers thinking their queerness erases their whiteness” but that attitude rarely carries over to anything outside of race and gender and it is incredibly frustrating.

what does it say if you spend so much time urging others to acknowledge their privilege when you won’t do the same yourself? do your conversations about gender politics include intersex and non-binary people, or do you treat them like an outlying exception, or an inconvenient acknowledgement against your gender-essentialism? do you fight for disabled people, or do you just yell at disabled people for being lazy when we talk about our struggles, and wish the fascists in government were disabled as if our disabilities are some divine punishment? do you armchair diagnose anyone abusive with whatever cluster b disorder you’ve decided makes people evil? do you use words like ‘sociopath’ or ‘psychotic’ as performatives? have you even considered that your thinness often makes people treat you better than they might otherwise treat a fat person? is fatness part of your conceptualization of beauty, or are the concepts of fatness and beauty mutually exclusive to you? have you ever even thought about your amatonormativity?

you cannot claim to care about intersectionality if you refuse to acknowledge all intersections. caring only about when race intersects with gender isn’t intersectionality, it’s a single point of intersection.
