I noticed you haven’t really been active on this account anymore though, just wanna check in and ask how you’ve been doing :D

Hello, thank you for checking in on me! (Same goes for the dozen or so other asks I got checking in!! ❤️) I’ve been doing alright! EtC is just on the backburner again as I navigate college. Regular occurrence these past 3 years, don’t worry. This blog is still active, and I have every intention of getting back to it once school lets up!

Unfortunately, that may not be until the semester is over. I’m in my last semester of actual classes before my final year, so I really have to lock in. I’m still semi-active on my art blog if you want to see what else I’ve been up to in the meantime, though! @melonsalts I’ve been doing a Deltarune-related art prompt challenge this past month, if the Mikes interest anyone :)

Thanks again for checking in, everyone! I’ll try to be more frequent with touching base with you all, I hadn’t realized I basically fell off the face of the earth last July and haven’t updated since 😅

Like the art style is cool and all and the basic premise is like fire. But there is just so much shit left out for the newer folk that makes wanting to get into the comic so hard.

The Red Strings Archive is not mandatory reading. It’s meant to be a pretty simple arg type puzzle for extra lore. All it involves is looking for three sets of numbers in some early posts and putting them together in order to create the password. It is still solvable to this day, you did not have to be there day one in order to solve it. It’s just there for fans to get additional lore, accessing the archive is not required to enjoy the comic. It’s all extra. There has never and will never be one time events that lock out information from you.

As for the Discord, it’s been closed for years because it isn’t a fan server. That’s how it started, yes, but then I realized public Discords are hell to keep up with, because I’m not a moderator, I’m just the guy who made the comic, and I started only letting in people I trust. It hasn’t been a fan server since 2021, it’s just a server for my friends and family now. And they don’t get any extra information, the details about EtC’s original characters aren’t exclusive to them. The only reason they’d know more is if they’re the ones who made/helped make said characters, or if they’re my co-writers. And I don’t even tell my co-writers everything, because they’re readers too. Just reading through the main plot will tell you everything you need to know about them at this point in the story, I promise.

And concerning a Patreon/Ko-fi, I wanted to make one for years. But the circumstances made it difficult to impossible to do so. This blog will have been running for five years this coming October. I couldn’t make a Patreon early on into the comic due to bank complications, and now, I just don’t post nearly as much as I used to. I have a lot going on outside of this comic now, it’s something I can really only work on in my free time, and even then, there’s other things I want to do than constantly work on panels. A Patreon would add another layer of things to keep up with, and I just can’t.

All this is to say, this comic isn’t perfect. I started it on a whim when I was 18 because I needed something to do while locked inside due to Covid. I’ve done my very best to make this comic as accessible as possible for everyone, but please remember, at the end of the day, that this is just a Tumblr ask blog, and that I’m not perfect either.

New readers, you don’t need to read all the extra blog posts, you don’t need to be in the Discord server, and you don’t need access to the archive. You are not missing out, I promise you. All the extras are just that; extras, for you to find and read through only if you want to. It is not necessary for your enjoyment of the story. Just read through the main plot, as you would with any other comic, it is its own standalone experience. I wouldn’t recommend just jumping in anywhere, it is definitely best to start from the beginning, but that is all I will ever ask of you as the reader. Everything you will ever need to know will be presented through the course of the main story, and I’m sorry if it has ever come off otherwise.
