Long Live The Queen

“Yes, that’s perfect, thank you.” Rémi says with a smile, before he follows her. He’s glad for the hard copy— not always trusting clouds, or just technology in general. He takes the document, and looks it over rapidly. His gaze snaps back up, when she says her name. “Oh! You’re the boss. Well thank you even more for taking your time to deal with this—— I’m sure you have better things to do normally. I have to be honest, minus this contre-temps, the services are excellent, probably one of the best import company I’ve seen in a while.” Rémi comments sincerely.

Riya was busy working away with anything Jessica threw her way, efficient in her work. She was always like that. The human had a great memory and eye for detail. She shakes her head. “Everything is fine here.” She could take more work if it was given to her. “No, this seems all standard. Do you need anything else done?”

“….you are technically one of them. Didn’t you offer me ideas first?” Evie quirked a brow. She was taller than her little chaperone, and so she glanced down at her before looking back to the client. “I apologized for bumping into her and I meant that.” But she wouldn’t apologize for what she’d said. It wasn’t wrong. 

Sighing out of annoyance and frustration, not because of the the girl, but it had just been one of those days. “Okay whatever, I don’t care for any further explanation. You’ve said enough. I’m sure you don’t get paid for your way with words.”

Sarah walked along with her, matching the woman’s silence… until she saw the car. A smile came to her face, “Nice ride.” Sleek. She liked it. Her eyes raised to the woman, and she nodded her head – taking a guess as to why. “Sure.” She got into the front seat with ease, clicking on the seatbelt before letting the window down just a little to feel the breeze. It was actually nice today. 

Once they were both buckled in, Bellynda started to pull out of the parking lot and head towards the Chateau. “Oh yeah, it’s a nice ride. But it could definitely be better.” She was definitely missing her car, which was just collecting dust at the moment. “Do you usually get left behind?” 

Riya nods her head at the woman. She had no reason to lie about her past life. The human was sure that the woman was wondering how she ended up here, and part of her was wondering the same thing. It would be something she would look into when she had the chance. If the chance ever came up, but for now, she would make it the best she could. “Yes Ma’am.” She looked around for who might be Jessica and what exactly they wanted her to do. 

It had been almost thirty minutes later, when Bellynda got up from her desk and went to check in on Jessica and the new girl. Waltzing into the office they were in, “how’s it going in here, should I be worried?” came her abrupt question. The wolf looked around trying to assess if there were any visible changes. “I’m hoping you didn’t have too much trouble?”

Leone pointed to her ears and signed again, this time after inputting text into her tablet and pressing play. “I am deaf. I can’t hear anything you’re saying.”

“Good for the most part. Just taking my dog for a walk before I head back into the garden to do some trimming. I have a shop now for landscaping and the like. If you need anything, feel free to stop by.”

Rémi worries at how much longer it will take, but when the woman tells him how fast he’ll get his package, he smiles brightly. “That’s perfect. Thank you for this— I really appreciate it. Is there a tracking number for me to know where it’s at, please? I don’t want to bother you with this again.” The escort is happy to know he’ll be able to give his gift to the client in a week. “May I have your name? I’d like to know who I need to be thankful to.”

Smiling at him with a nod, she informed him “don’t worry I just printed off the tracking information to you, and it will also be sent to your email you gave us on file. Is that the email you would prefer us send it to still?” Getting up, Bellynda walked out of the office they were in, and turned to look at him to make sure he followed. Leading them to the printer, she grabbed the document and handed it to him. “There you go, here’s your hard copy. The name is Bellynda Queen, and I’m just doing my job. I apologize for you having to come in, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.” 

“We don’t have slaves anymore. But the Alpha thought the omegas should be included with the pack unless they fucked up. So now we have escorts and prisoners. But even with changes, it’s still Covaire. Same occurences with supernatural plays on the inhabitants every year, what happens being the only change.”

He put Murphy into a sit, “So how have you been Bellynda?”

Bellynda nodded politely as he spoke. It didn’t seem like the core of Covaire had really changed, just shifted a bit perhaps. “That’s not surprising, if Covaire suddenly started operating differently, who knows what would happen.” 

Rémi nods slightly as he listens— he’s disappointed that his package isn’t here yet, but at least, he wasn’t lost, or broken. “Do you have some time frame for its arrival? I just want to make sure I’ll be available to pick it up here, since it’s meant to be a gift.” He asks calmly, and politely— he knows shit can happen, so he tries to be nice about the situation. It’s not like the wolf knows about the gift coming his way, since it’s a surprise. Most people would probably try getting a discount, but all Rémi wants, is to know what’s happening, and when he’ll get what he paid for.

Nodding as he spoke, Bellynda checked the system to see when was the earliest it would get here. It was already shipped so there was nothing she could do to make it go any faster. The only thing she could do now was have it moved to priority shipping. “I have just put in an priority shipping request which we will cover, you will not have to pay any extra. It should be here within 7 days.” 

She is out with Xerxes, as per usual. By now she had quite familiarized herself with the city, she’d even been to the vineyard. Had discussed the option of perhaps purchasing it with her mother, although they didn’t see the necessity yet, even if the option still stood. Later, perhaps. The chthonic registers the agitated women occupying most of the sidewalk, but it’s rather easy to ignore her, which is why she choses not to pull her pup to the side and with that prevent him to brush past her. As far as Océane is considered, she should consider herself lucky her pup and nothing else that invades her personal space considering there is hardly any space available thanks to her. The snide remark, she too ignores, albeit an amused smile curves along her lips. The audacidy some people had.

Bellynda’s facial expressions instantly softened as she spotted a great beautiful dog across from her. The dog and the the woman accompanying the dog were headed her way. Bellynda loved dogs, but had found it harder in recent years to keep one given her lifestyle. She felt bad leaving the dog alone or in someone else’s care for so long. As she crossed paths with the woman and her dog, a genuine soft smile etched across her lips, as she looked into the dog’s eyes. 

“Please. I insist.” This woman seemed like the sort who took no nonsense from anyone. That and she also seemed very busy. “Let me know what you want and I’ll bring it to you while you finish your phone call,” Dylan said with a smile as he stepped up next to her. If he could help take one less thing off her mind, he was going to do it.

Bellynda was shaking her head at him in frustration. Before she could respond to him, her phone rang again. “George. George! Stop, you need to take a deep breathe and tell me what’s going on. I can’t do anything from here.” With one hand on her hip, she turned and looked around. Damn, right now she could have been drinking her espresso. But no, something or someone always got in the way. 

Queen. Interesting name. Though the woman was in a position to be a queen of her own, Sarah was sure. After all, she was a client. Unlike Sarah’s last name being McMaster, and her being a prisoner, and slave before. “I am, yes.” And she was sure that once she went back without the woman who rented her, that the woman would have some privileges revoked, possibly thrown in a cell herself for a little while. Given how dangerous some of them were, they were a bit more strict. Fortunately, Sarah had no real desire to run. “Oh, wow. Yeah, that would be great, thanks.” 

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Queen.” Manners was something that Riya knew very well and what her parents instilled in her growing up. The human moved closer to the woman, not entirely sure why until being told to sit. She did, crossing one leg over the other. “I was a defense lawyer. I made partner before I blacked out from my celebratory party and woke up here.” One day she would have the means to investigate what really happened to her and why. 

“A defense lawyer?” Covaire was still so strange to her in many ways. How a defense lawyer ended up in the Chateau was beyond her, but Bellynda knew what the people who ran the city were capable of instructing. “That’s usually how the story goes, people just end up here. The city of lost souls”, she had mostly said the last part to herself. “Let’s see if you can last a day here.” Bellynda got up from her seat and walked over towards a pile of paperwork on a desk nearby. “Enjoy. If you need anything, don’t ask me. Ask Jessica.”

Rémi steps forward, and smiles at clerk. “Morning. So, this is the paperwork for an order I made a while ago——” He doesn’t want to say the date out loud for other customers to hear, and turn away from doing business with the company, but the paperwork shows how late his package is. “It should’ve been here since that date, but still haven’t gotten a call yet, and I was wondering if I could get any updates on whereabouts my two Fu dogs, please?” The chinese wolf is as polite as ever, and makes sure that the clerk knows - by the tone of his voice - that he isn’t angry.

Hearing that there was a late shipment, and the client was still waiting for it, for who knows how long did not sit right with Bellynda. This was her business now and she was going to make sure it ran smoothly. Since she was still learning how things worked around here, the wolf waited for her staff to go through the computer system and find his order. Once she saw it get pulled up, Bellynda nodded, and smiled politely at him. “I can help you, and I apologize for the delay but I think it is because the shipment was having issues boarding. We can discuss it further, and I will be glad to help assure you, that you will definitely be getting your package.” Bellynda led him towards one of the smaller offices that she knew was empty at the time.
