“who has time for naps or sleep??? amirite???”

“i wanna do that but i can’t cuz i don’t have time… *watches netflix and goes on tumblr all day* yeah i’m way too busy”

… etc.

High-achievers say this all the time and it’s true: you have time if you make time. Or how Beyoncé has 24 hours in a day and so do you. I made it a rule to stop saying, “I don’t have time!” or “I’m too busy!” And guess what? I do have time! I still have plenty to do but I don’t have to convince myself that I’m always “too busy”. Now I’m better at fitting in those extra things I want to do.

Next time you’re tempted to say the above excuses, try instead saying,

“I can’t do that today but let me check my schedule and get back to you.”

“I’m not sure when I’m free right now but we should find a time that works for both of us.”

Some of this might actually require some deep reflection and a re-evaluation of your priorities and habits. What is actually important to you? Are you a yes-man? Do you take on too much? Should you start saying no to certain things? Are you spending your time on things you should or want to do?
