Inuyasha the Half-Demon

"Eska... I'm your husband... We've been married for almost a year... You're...You're pregnant with our baby..." he looked worried, holding her close

"We really are. Thank you. Thank you so much." She curled up against him, wondering how long she would be able to do that. "You make me better," she added quietly. "You know that, right?"

"Right now I just want you to stay here with me," she said, not even caring how that might sound. "You can help me later, when I’m throwing up and crying for no reason and really do need it. For now, all that I need is for you to continue being happy with me."

Eska kissed back, harder, wrapping her arms around his neck and gripping his hair. "Yes," she whispered when they finally separated. "A baby." She started giggling then, the way that a child might, and hugged Inuyasha tightly. “Our baby.”

"Can we speak privately, please?"

She sat on the foot of the bed. "I went to see a healer today," she started, lacing her fingers together nervously.

"Yeah? Are you sick? Whats going on?" he looked worried, resting his hand atop hers

"It’s all right. You don’t have to worry," she assured him. "I… They said that I’m going to have a baby. That’s a good thing, right?" Eska had wanted this. She had been happy when they told her. Still, telling her husband was frightening, and she wasn’t even sure why. "I mean, I know that we’re young, and I know that we haven’t been married very long, but we talked about this. And I think that we can do it, can’t we?"

"Can we speak privately, please?"

She sat on the foot of the bed. "I went to see a healer today," she started, lacing her fingers together nervously.

"Yeah? Are you sick? Whats going on?" he looked worried, resting his hand atop hers

"M-My mother died protecting me from the fire… How did you know? I-I didn`t tell you nothing before…" She was starting to wonder how he knew of her past, considering he was half demon maybe that was a part of his powers.

"You have the same kind of eyes I do. A person who lost everythin'... I know those eyes anywhere, its just... something I see a lot... my friend Sango used to have those eyes till she married Miroku." he shrugged 

"Well, how things are is stupid," Eska grumbled. "There’s nothing wrong with you. Only with the idiots who think that there’s something wrong with you."

  "I’m just glad that you still think I’m attractive as a human." he ran his fingers through her hair

"Of course I do," said Eska, leaning into his touch. "You are perfect, no matter what species you are. You know that, don’t you?"

"For a long time… All I wanted was to be a full blooded demon… So I could be stronger and show everyone who hurt me and my mom how wrong they were… Now… I’m just happy to have you"

"Oh…" She hugged him tighter, thinking of a lonely little girl who never felt good enough, who longed for something that she could be the best at. "I still can’t understand why anyone would hurt you," she whispered. "I hate everyone, but I love you." Of course, part of that was because when they first met he had calmed her down when she cried, helped her to be less afraid. And because instantly after…she had worried about him. "You’re wonderful," she said quietly.

  "I’m just glad that you still think I’m attractive as a human." he ran his fingers through her hair

"Of course I do," said Eska, leaning into his touch. "You are perfect, no matter what species you are. You know that, don’t you?"

"For a long time... All I wanted was to be a full blooded demon... So I could be stronger and show everyone who hurt me and my mom how wrong they were... Now... I'm just happy to have you"

She made a contented sound and nuzzled into his chest. “You aren’t bad yourself. And you’re beautiful…I hope that that’s all right to say.”

"I'm just glad that you still think I'm attractive as a human." he ran his fingers through her hair

  "Yeah, we can." he smiled  "How about a kiss, My grumpy wife" he chuckled

She stood on tiptoe, leaning up to kiss him. It was a boundary that she didn’t cross very often—mouth-kisses. In many ways, they had progressed more in around a month than Eska had thought that they would in a year. She was surprisingly comfortable around Inuyasha, and it showed. They would hold hands, play with each other’s hair, plant little kisses on hands or faces or shoulders…there was even cuddling, as loath as Eska was to use that word even in her own thoughts. But mouth-kisses were different. Mouth-kisses were sensual and, therefore, rare. And so as she pressed her mouth over her husband’s, she made sure to pour in everything that she could, all of the I-love-you and the I-need-you and the you-make-me-feel-things and the how-long-has-it-been-since-we-did-this and everything else that she could.

  "No… Just… don’t worry about it. Im fine…" he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek "Whenever you want kids you tell me alright… I wanna give you  everything you want"

"I’m going to worry about it," she sighed. "It’s part of the job description. Watching something I don’t understand happen to someone I care about is frightening. This is as much for me as it is for you." She hooked her arms under his, hugging him back.

"Its nothing to worry about. i just lose my demon powers. thats it, nothing to understand it just happens." he shrugged "Just like how you lose your waterbending on the New moon, I lose my demon powers." he kissed her forehead

"I suppose that makes sense," said Eska, relaxing a bit. "We can be grumpy normal people together. I can live with that."

"Yeah, we can." he smiled  "How about a kiss, My grumpy wife" he chuckled

"Its not like they’re wrong… I mean… you’re already beautiful… But seeing you carrying our child would be…Well amazing…"

"Please," she scoffs, struggling to hide her self-consciousness. "You’re going to make some sort of sentimental idiot out of me if you don’t stop."

"I'm sorry, But... In my culture, the only thing that could make a mans wife more beautiful to him is seeing her pregnant..." he rubed the back of his head
