Tonight I'm just feeling so much affection for Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. 🥺 They're complicated characters and so many people criticize their faults (and of course they do have faults!), but they're still so lovable to me! And what I'm thinking about tonight is how much I love their JOY, you know? That quality the French call "joie de vivre." The excitement and happiness they get from ordinary things... The smell of snow, the changing of the seasons, the taste of food and the smell of coffee... the pleasures of a good book, of good music, of laughing at a bad movie with your friends. Their enthusiasm is SO infectious and endearing to me. They're messy, sure, yes, but they also LOVE life with such a childlike delight and it makes me love life more too, and I love them. 🥺🥰
