"One final farewell, Wolf. Before you leave." "I'll be back soon, Jask." "I know."
Geralt of Rivia and Jaskier from The Witcher. Based on "A Tearful Farewell" by Maynard Dixon (1875-1946).
Yes I also made a hansry version.
something I donβt think is explored enough in canon AND fic is how every single Bat, but especially Batman himself, would absolutely give anyone with formal military training heart palpitations if they saw them in action. oh you can fly a plane? youβre used to sophisticated combat? WHERE ARE YOUR VERBAL COMMANDS? how are you preventing friendly fire? what is the chain of command? why are you ignoring air traffic control in downtown airspaceβ
Random military guy, seconds away from losing his shit: "WHERE ARE YOUR VERBAL COMMANDS?"
Batman: *examining a crime scene with his kids, grunts*
Red Robin: *cocks head an inch to the left, then leaves the rooftop to take care of a mugging*
Batman: *turns his head a fraction to look at Spoiler*
Spoiler: *midway through wrapping a lucky knife graze on her leg, holds up bandage*
Batman: *softer grunt, turns head another fraction to look at Black Bat*
Black Bat: *thumbs up, falls backwards off the roof edge to go help Red Robin*
Military guy: what the fuck
Batman: *produces small flashlight from pocket, points it at evidence nearby*
Robin: -tt- *begins bagging the evidence*
Batman: *flicks flashlight at a wall 30m away*
Nightwing: on it, B! *stops walking on his hands and goes to get the surveillance footage*
Red Hood, who has been slowly prowling in circles around the crime scene, with his guns out, seemingly ignoring everyone: *heavy sigh through the modulator*
Batman: *ignores*
Hood: *hesitates on a step*
Batman: *spins round, looking for the enemy*
Hood: *waves him off, recognising the person five roofs away as Huntress*
Batman: *returns to scene with a grunt*
Random military guy: VERBAL-
Robin: Do you really need your orders spelled out for you? Mother ensured I grew out of that by the time I was five.
Random military guy: wha-
Robin: You've not even been following the conversation we've all been having, have you? Civilians are so rude.
Random military guy: Who are you calling a civilian?!
Red Hood: This is Gotham. Who are *you* calling a civilian, army boy?
Random military guy: I am never letting myself be talked into vigilante-wrangling again. The Lanterns were fine, but not in Gotham. Never again.
Hood: S'what I thought. Relax, new guy, we'll have you out of city limits by dawn and you can go back to your cushy job on base.
Random military guy: Cushy, are you ki-
Spoiler: You get paid, my man. That's automatically cushy.
Batman: *wounded grunt*
Spoiler: No, you cannot just pay for my apartment. I will steal your credit cards and do it myself, like a grown up.
Batman: *hums*
Robin: You realise you just told him that he's indirectly paying your rent and he's going to be skipping around the cave now.
Spoiler: *finishing wrapping the bandage* Gotta throw him a bone sometimes.
Spoiler: Especially because I think this knife may have been poisoned.
Batman: *abandons crime scene, scoops Spoiler up and leaps off the roof to the Batmobile in less than five seconds*
Random military guy: Insane. You are all insane.
Nightwing, reappearing: You're just getting that, now? That's rough, buddy.

Disabled people belong in the environmental sciences. Disabled people can and should be ecologists, zoologists, biologist, botanists, etc. There are ways to accommodate your disabilities. There are ways to do field work while disabled. It is good for the planet to have disabled people in environmental science, as their lived experiences create unique lenses to experience and analyze problems through. Disabled people are also disproportionately impacted by environmental changes. By studying and fighting for our planet, we are fighting for the other members of our community.
He was waiting for the young man's return.

RIP Jan Frycz, who died on August 15. He was a prolific and acclaimed actor on stage and screen, but I'll remember him as the definitive voice of Regis in Witcher 3. I'd played through the game and DLCs with English audio first, but with the encouragement of @keyrousse I replayed it in Polish, and Jan Frycz's performance as Regis demonstrated to me the richness and depth of voice acting specifically - even with the same expressions and mannerisms, it felt like the character of Regis had a distinct interpretation with Jan Frycz's acting choices with just his voice.
(If I messed up the Polish dialogue in the comic above, please correct me - it's supposed to say "What happened?" and "I'll sit with you.")

secret organizations for studying paranormal phenomena are always calling the creatures they find like "specimen 58008" or some fake latin taxonomy or something vague and ominous like "the red angel" or whatever and thats all well and good but i want a story about a bunch of cryptozoologists going around naming things the way people name like actual birds and lizards and shit.
i want to get lost in the woods and meet the ring-tailed tree creeper and roger's false elk. i want a character who is desperate to prove this monster is actually a distinct species from that very similar looking monster so they can name it after themself. i want two field researchers narrowly escaping an encounter with some ten foot tall thing made of carnivorous vines and one of them is like wow wait til the guys back at the lab hear we got that close to a lesser thorn-backed bone eater π and the other scientist is like.,...... π°lesser?
thank you for appreciating my boobs calculator joke but the real overlooked gem of this post is rogers false elk. basically this entire post was just an excuse to come up with a hypothetical monster called rogers false elk. its just so pleasing to me. does nobody care him? does nobody but me care for rogers false elk?
Why are you doing that? What the fuck is wrong with you??
it's uncanny how easy it is
starting a collection of this genre of will wood post

if you think the bed shortage at PTMC is outrageous you should see the chair shortage at staff parties
Robby: Is this seat taken?
Jack: That's my lap.
Robby: I know what I said.
