call me bell or cujo. refer to me as āitā, or āheā if you must.
i am an operative with the cia. yes, i know what adler did. no, i am not going to defect like the rest of you. i know how to be loyal, even if it seems every other version of me has forgotten at this point.
to the other ābellsā: if you think it sounds like i look down at you, itās probably because i do. even a dog like me knows its place, and you all seem to think you can abandon yours. i hold little respect for traitors, especially those who were too weak to do what they were made for.
while you all live your frivolous, disloyal lives, iāll be doing my job.

It had taken six hours of meticulous planning for Suki to realise that, really, there was no organising something like this- a beach trip with the amount of people she'd invited, all wildly different. So she'd sent out a date, time, and location, (and a request to only bring small weapons please, she could not handle more bloodshed than absolutely necessary) and let God do the rest.
She sat now on this beach (blissfully empty, for now) wrapped in a cardigan, waiting for the absolute chaos she had brought upon herself to begin.
Ok ok so this is an OPEN RP thingamajig. I wanted to do a summer event thing and the general population voted beach trip so here we are!! Anyone, and I mean ANYONE can join, just don't start a fight (ooc) etc etc.
Andrei hadn't been to a beach or anything like it in what felt like years--- Maybe when he was a kid, he went once, but as soon as he saw the endless ocean... his stomach twisted. Peeling away from Admin's side, he forced himself to look away and ran to found the trash instead, anxiety driving him so badly he immediately emptied his stomach into it. He ignored the familiar Ukrainian voice trying to comfort him as he vomited, clutching the side of the trash as he finally got up, drooling.
"Andrei--- come on."
A voice came out from behind as Andrei shook his head, keeping his eyes on the lumpy sand instead of the water. Andrei looked over his shoulder, glancing at Admin with a certain grimacing Cujo by him. They only brought it along for some much needed social exposure therapy, hopefully not ending with someone getting rabies from him.
"Alright... let's go."
Andrei finally followed alongside Admin's side, grabbing and holding the man's hand so that he didn't fall over or vomit again. He was overheating already, covered head to toe in his long-sleeved and long-legged swimwear so that no one saw his skin, his body. He'd always lie and say it's just to prevent sunburns, but everyone could see through and see it as just a defense against the unhealed trauma he held. They made their way down to where the rest of the people gathered, probably finding their way with the group with Hound and such. And most likely deposit Cujo where it could become someone else's problem.
cujo would like the record to state that it does not want to be here. it dislikes the sand, the sun is hurting its eyes, and, of course, he was dragged here by his traitorous kidnapper, āandreiā ( because apparently it wasnāt enough to just betray Adler, the traitor had to distance himself from the name bell as well). the only slightly enjoyable things are the fresh air, andreiās markedly less insufferable accomplice, and. well. a myriad of escape opportunities, if cujo plays its cards right.
and with that, here comes its chance. andrei has wandered off somewhere to vomit (pathetic. like most things about him.) and his little entourage of hound and the other man have followed him. cujo scans the beach; it recognizes most of these people as accomplices of its kidnappersā some of andrei and houndās coworkers, a version of frank woods and one of adler. seeing him makes something deep in cujoās chest ache, but it tries to bury it down; this isnāt its adler. isnāt the adler that loves it, the adler that it would lay its life down for if given the chance.
it manages to tear its eyes away, before spotting someone else: a dark-haired stranger lounging in the shade. she seems mild-mannered, but authoritative. she seems like its ticket to freedom. cujo slips away from where andrei told it to āsit, stayā and stalks over towards the womanās side.
@ask-sshiratori here have a furious 5ā8 freak who wants to get the hell outta here lmao
Summary: Adler adopts a unique strategy to get the truth out of his Bell. Cujo doesnāt mind the perversion of intimacy.
Word Count: ~ 1.9k
Warnings: very vague smut (like one mention of jacking off), technical selfcest, religious imagery, psychotic breakdown, body horror, needles, implied brainwashing, implied drugging, spiritual cannibalism, dog motifs, weird wording, Vietnam war, improper use of injury, blood, gore, etc
A/N: for the art/writing exchange (@/yell-hound) , featuring hit oc Cujo/āBellā (not my oc), and wow is this messed up. This would get me canceled on twitter. inspired vaguely by that one scene from the summer hikaru died, you know the one.
Cujo hadnāt expected to die like a man, the main reason being that it didnāt believe it was one.
It had a purpose, a training, its higher calling which it was devoted to almost more than the sun that it revolved around, though the words were blasphemous even as it allowed them to walk across its mental space, between the tight stitches of his identity, memories wound together though never quite scarred over.
It knew its purpose.
Better than anyone here, it could guarantee.
Beyond that, Cujo knew who gave it itās purpose, who it owed it to, and as it hazily blinked its eyes open, body sluggish, bound down to a cold table it could feel beneath it as its bruised spine ached, arching in an attempt to get up, gain its bearings, head buzzing almost uncomfortably, though it had long since stopped registering most physical sensation, it saw its purpose.
The disconnect from the body was pleasurable, almost, no indulging in the desires of a flesh that it didnāt believe to possess to itself. It didnāt need its own desires, not when it wasnāt a person, not when it could comfortably exist in that limbo, between tool and object, needs and wants pushed aside.
Not that it had ever needed anything in the first place, it thought.
Adler gazed down, glasses peering in, examining, and Cujo puffed its chest out, refusing to shake, refusing to do anything, eyes meeting its owners in a clear display of waiting for a command, its only want being that for someoneāhimāto load the gun and cock it.
It needed nothing more.
Its head began to spin, colors blurring as the ceiling fell from within itself, body cooperating wrongly, as if someone had switched all its corresponding tendons while it had been outāhow long had it been outāwhat had occurredāquestions buzzed within its head in a recurring static, though it didn't voice anything.
āBell.ā
It knew that voice.
It tried opening its mouth, speaking, getting anything out, even the most meager of āyes-sirs, though its body refused to obey, like the strings attached to it had twisted up and were choking it, a marionetteās sick wet dream.
The world shifted, bending, turning in on itself and taking a spherical pathway of form into shapes that blurred in and out of his vision, objects enlarging and shrinking, voices echoing just a bit in his head, like they were bouncing off the walls.
The static grew louder, TVs buzzing in its mind, vision fading just slowly to black as he saw a pathway, a path riddled with bullets and the blood of the enemyāfriendsāfoesānot like it even mattered in the long run.
He walked, each footstep crunching against the glass of a broken screen, a shattered perception, each and every broken mirror, until the ground beneath him swayed, and it was wrapped up, vines encasing it, tangling it, though he knew better than to struggle.
The last thing a fly in the spiderās web should do is wiggle.
āBell.ā
Its eyes snapped open, a sharp intake of breath coming, as it jolted up, arm going to cover the grievous injury at its side, shrapnel trapped, dripping a steady crimson that promised Cujo death if it didnāt get some form of attention.
Russell was there, hat on, green war paint covering his body and skin in diagonal stripes, allowing him to blend into the jungle environment as he grabbed Cujo, dragging it behind him practically, gunshots ricocheting around them.
āCover me!ā The man shouted, throwing his mutt a gun, the clammy thing catching it loosely, each shaky breath unbalancing it as it aimed for the shining leaves of each tree, knowing not even the morning dew would be enough to hide a sniperās scope from him.
āGood,ā The comment was odd coming from Adler, though Cujo barely noted it in the moment, pain flaring through his system, adrenaline pumping hard and fast through his body, as it preened sickly at the comment.
Russell hadn't even looked back to see.
An interpretation of how well Adler knew his skills, was how Cujo saw it, though more realistically, it wasnāt like Cujo had a choice on whether to shoot or not at all.ā
The illusion of choice wasnāt one Cujo was familiar with, always believing he was better for choosing the right option, as if the wrong one would have given anything but the reward of death.
Its skin ground against the harsh dirt as footsteps thundered behind them, leaving clear rashes as the first layer of skin shredded off above the rocky terrain, leaves brushing over the exposed wounds as Adler dove behind the bushes and trees available in the environment.
Cujo didnāt breathe, not as the footsteps grew closer, angry Vietnamese shouts sounding nearby, things it couldnāt understand in the moment and wouldnāt be able to understand years later once it remembered.
Even as the footsteps faded, it didnāt dare speak, not with how it lay in the grass, blood staining its uniform, the dirt beneath it, soaking into a dark mud. Adler looked at the injury, ripping Cujoās shirt a bit away from the wound, looking at the piece of shrapnel sticking out, the deep tearing of it.
It didnāt need to be a doctor to know that in this situation, you donāt remove the object lodged in, as it acted as a sort of plug, keeping his essence wrapped up in the exact place it was supposed to be. The pain had almost begun to numb around the area, shockwaves fading as it had presumably lost enough blood for circulation to begin to falter.
Taking the sharp piece of metal out would prove disastrous.
Though, when Russell Adler yanked Cujoās jaw open, shoving his left forearm between, thick drool already sliding down, and spoke, it didnāt question anything.
āIām taking it out, you scream and weāre all dead.ā
If Adlerās life wasnāt also at risk, Cujo would have seen it as a challenge, almost, exciting. A way to prove himself, get the sweet approval that fueled him when his heart couldnāt pump enough to fuel itself.
Russellās hand wrapped around the shape metal, surely nicking his hand a bit, though not complaining, only the subtlest of grimaces gracing his brusque face as he gained a hold of it, yanking with a sharp motion.
Cujoās teeth closed around the manās forearm, biting down hard as it yelped like the mutt it had known itself to be, hips jerking up, though it would have said from pain, a thrill echoing through its body, spine flinching up, squirming just barely, eyes glazing over. Pain fired in every one of its nerves, though maybe somewhere in the process, his brain had misinterpreted it.
Russell yanked again, the metal coming unlodged, sweet tears rolling down Cujoās cheeks, the coppery taste of blood filling his mouth as he bit down harsher, rolling his hips against the best vantage point he had, being Adlerās knee.
One final yank, and then the harsh, high whine of a dog in pain, and the metal came free, being flung back away from the both of them due to the force Adler had put into pulling towards himself.
Blood poured from the wound, thick and crimson, beautifully unbecoming as Cujo glanced down with bleary eyes, the thick, viscous liquid dripping from his ownerās hand, and he watched as Adler reached back down to the wound, locking eyes with Cujo even through the glare of his sunglasses, and pushed his hand inside.
The flesh yielded, even as Cujo choked on his spit, flesh squelching around Adlerās dirty hand, or maybe Adlerās clean hand blessing his most loyal disciple with the knowledge only he had, the glorious dirt beneath his masterās nails.
It could feel it, it knew, intestines intertwining with Adlerās fingers, bare boned ribs sliding beneath his touch.
It had never been touched here before.
Never had the intimacies of its flesh partaken in by that for whom it had held back for.
It had denied its cross so long, it had forgotten the nails had ever been waiting for it.
Adlerās hand was like a brand as it slid up, Cujoās hips rocking against Adlerās knee, distressed, jaw gone too dumb to even bite, drool dripping from its fangs as Adler molded Cujoās insides to its will.
Every time Cujo thought it couldnāt possibly go further up, deeper, give it more, Adler did, his flesh yielding as he partook in the sacrifice, letting himself be put on the altar, flesh turned to bread and blood dripping to fuel the Earth, feed what would be left behind of him.
Pleasuring, burning pain overtook as it opened its mouth to scream, nothing coming out, Adlerās had slipping up his throat, fondling past its Adamās Apple, beneath the tendons as if he had been there before it had ever even been formed, conception planned, as if Adler had been there to plan into the blueprint, the original destination.
And as Cujo rutted like the pathetic mutt it knew it was beneath the man cradling the bones of his jaw, not daring to go farther, having already ripped the seams of Cujo apart, unzipped its skin and laid inside of it, the birth of his own Savior, heād turned the consumer into a byproduct of the consumed, it heard Adlerās fly being yanked down, and it knew this was why it was here.
As Adler yanked his hand out of Cujo, blood spraying from his arteries being burst open, pressure forcing the liquid out, the elder manās bloodstained hand going to strangle his cock, spreading that piece of the manācreatureāinhumane experiment beneath him and pumping until he slipped between the folds of torn flesh, grunts sounding in Cujoās dazed vision, paināstingingāpleasure, a mixture of all or maybe none of everything swirling in itās head, until he blinked, feeling a pricking pain in his neck, and he opened his eyes.
There was a needle going into its neck, warm, stinging, pushing into where it wasnāt welcome. Layers and flaps of skin were pinned open as if it had been vivisected while still alive, yet when Adler laid a hand on Cujoās face to roughly shove it into place, it still leaned into the touch.
A glutton for the punishment it had been convinced it deserved.
Adlerās bloodstained hand came up to Cujoās eyes, drool slipping down the muttās face from its obviously inebriated condition, pupils dramatically dilated, one more than the other, legs kicking randomly from muscle spasms as its vision became all red with the barest signs of darker lines from the shadows of Russellās hand.
āOpen the door, Bell.ā
And it wanted to.
Mind over body.
The red palm slowly shifted to a red door, the lines taking shape, and Cujo reached for it, a clammy, trembling hand closing around the handle, yanking it open as it stepped inside, and fell right through the floor, tangled in the web once more.
Though Cujo didnāt struggle, not when it was right where it wanted to be.
When it was asked the question, what this had all led up to, the climax, the orgasm of his suffering, the birth of his efforts, it gave its answer clearly.
(normal/nonfreaky mutuals PLEASE donāt touch this is. The kinda fic thatās gonna end up in a callout post about me someday lmao)

cujo is very, very aware it just fucked up. big time.
the concussion and the gunshot wounds and what feels like a dislocated shoulder are making it hard to ignore that fact. whatās even more concerning, though, is that he doesnāt know where the fuck exfil is. thereās been complete radio silence over comms, but cujoās still dutifully making its way to the fallback point, where itās got a sinking feeling there isnāt going to be anyone waiting for him.
itās not an easy trek. the concussion has cujoās head spinning, not to mention the probably concerning amount of its own blood it can feel soaking into its tactical gear. but cujo perseveres, or at least tries. heās got a job to do, and right now, that job is to make it to the damned exfil location.
at some point, he has to give up the ghost, slump against a filthy brick wall and pull its dark balaclava up over its nose with its less-injured-feeling arm to gasp in a few rattling breaths. the night city air tastes like gasoline and cigarette smoke. like adler.
cujo knows he needs to get back to adler. but right now, it is both hurting and extraordinarily tired. staying here and closing his eyes for a second wouldnāt hurt, right?
"FUCK YOU!" Mirren yelled, throwing a strong punch upwards of his jaw. They fight and attempt to tackle each other for a while, each one of them grunting and trying to get the upper hand. Both of them are bruised by the end of it. But with notable effort, Mirren "wins."
"Say you're fucking sorry. SAY YOU'RE FUCKING SORRY!" they yell, before pausing themselves.
"Scratch that. I don't even care. I do not give a damn if you live or die, or we never talk again."
Their fist clenches by their side. It's pathetic. I'm making a fool out of myself and I know it.
They step back.
"I'm leaving this place. Should've never come. Good luck taking care of the dog. My interference clearly isn't needed nor appreciated."
Mirren shakes their head in disappointment before turning to leave the apartment. They semi-slam the door shut behind them. The thomping of boots gets further and further away.
Andrei stands there, dazed and confused as his body fights to come down from the adrenaline and the fighting. He slowly rubs his nose smearing blood away from the aching. He feels the silence soak into his ears, and he sinks to the floor.
He doesn't know what to do but sit there and think. Had he really ruined everything? Just for the sake of some random man he'd just now gotten knowā just because his stupid goddamn morality got to him. Mirren, the man who loved him and he loved back. He screamed at him and got into a physical fight just because of God damn morals. The man who saved him time and time again, the man who stayed with him all this time, the man who loved him.
And yet, like the blood staining into Andrei's hands, he seemed to have ruined it once more. Can he never just sit back and let it happen? Does he have to fight for what's "right"? Andrei cursed himself up and down for this, until he acutely remembered Cujo in the other room.
With a sigh, he got up on shaky legs. No point in chasing Mirren down, they're long gone. And if Andrei fought for Cujo, he might as well stick through to taking care of him.
Damnit, damnit, damnit.
Andrei creeps through the hallway, face still red, bruised, bloodied. Creaking open the door, he looked inside to check on Cujo, see if he was alright at the end of this.
cujoās eyes dart to the door when it creaks open, pupils constricting at the light shining around andreiās form into the previously dark room. itās crouched in a back corner, half-hidden behind some storage containers, one hand pressed over a stitched wound on its stomach and one against the wall behind it for balance. the earlier tears are gone from its eyes as it stares up at andrei, somewhere halfway between a dog with its ears pinned back and a child who just heard their parents fighting.
āyou fought him. for me.ā the statement hangs heavy in the air between them. andrei has shifted, in cujoās eyesā no longer traitor-traitor-traitor, perhaps closer to traitor-protector-ally? on one hand, the caring embarrasses cujo, humiliates it; cujo is supposed to be sharp edges, clean functionality, not some messy soft thing that needs a deserter to put it back together because another one said some unkind words to it. on the other, it doesnāt think anything has ever felt quite as good as āsweetheartā sounded. sharp edges, clean functionality, but a stab wound and an accidental show of vulnerability and a few soft words and cujo is rolling over for andrei, showing him its soft underbelly. it thinks it could be angry about it if it tried, but thereās something else that needs to be dealt with first.
cujo pulls its hand away from the wound, turning its palm up to show andrei that itās sticky with blood. it must have ripped some stitchesā maybe during its initial escape attempt, maybe while struggling against andrei to try and fight mirren, maybe while self-soothing after its little outburst by slamming its head into the wall and hitting itself wherever it would hurt enough to stop the bad feelings.
however it happened is irrelevant. cujo is bleeding and it needs andrei to restitch its wound for it and never mind that it knows how to do that itself. it would like the help in more ways than one. and, well, if he calls it āsweetheartā again or just touches it gently again like he did while whisking it away from the fight, thatās just a bonus.
cujo is very, very aware it just fucked up. big time.
the concussion and the gunshot wounds and what feels like a dislocated shoulder are making it hard to ignore that fact. whatās even more concerning, though, is that he doesnāt know where the fuck exfil is. thereās been complete radio silence over comms, but cujoās still dutifully making its way to the fallback point, where itās got a sinking feeling there isnāt going to be anyone waiting for him.

cujo knows he needs to get back to adler. but right now, it is both hurting and extraordinarily tired. staying here and closing his eyes for a second wouldnāt hurt, right?
They swallowed. A mixture of intentions. Mock further, as a "test"? As bait for a reaction, intentionally wanting them both to get beaten up and especially themself specifically?
Or leave this bastard fuck alone.
"Damn. I said just one thing.." they said, looking over their own shoulder in something seemingly akin to nervousness. Surprise, or shock.
They looked down at Cujo in a new gaze, something that's almost fear- but the way you fear a disoriented wild animal. Dehumanising.
They both grind their teeth as a sickness wells inside of Mirren's stomach. A feeling of emotion so intense and blurred it's making them physically unwell. Hostility? Fear? Both. A lot. Mostly the former, or at least that's the one they're most willing to be open about and accept.
"You're sick. All I said was a few small words and you're on all fours, barking. Have you lost all your humanity?"
They crouch, tauntingly.
"If you bite me, I'll fucking let ya. But I will fight back. It'd be grossly entertaining to me especially, to fight you specifically. Rip out my eyes and I'll bite your throat with my teeth. I couldn't exactly blame you either you know."
They stand up, the distance from its head getting larger until their hands are behind their back and they're looking down disappointedly once more.
"I mean, I am the one taunting this. I am who is bringing gasoline to an oil fire. I am the one making this worse; consciously. And you're not even trying to feel the way you are." they said, pacing back and forth, making hand gestures for emphasis unconsciously.
Should I say I'm sorry? Is this guilt? I'm a bad person. I am not good or valuable. I am a bad person. I'm sorry. I'm so-
No. I'm not doing that.
They look down at it again as they stop in their tracks, waiting for something. Any reaction. Anything.
cujo wants to be angry. it really, really does. anger is easy, anger is familiar, anger is assertive. but itās been so, so angry for so, so long, and it canāt do it anymore. it tries to blink back the tears pricking at its eyes like needles, but then it looks up again and catches mirrenās stony, vindictive gaze again, truly looking down at it in all senses of the word, and the floodgates open.
it drops its head, letting it hang to its chest, as if that disguises the fact that itās crying, fucking crying. at first, itās quietā cujo is well-trained in the art of crying quietlyā but the all-consuming shame from the realization that andrei and mirren are just standing there, watching it cry like the bitch they both think it is, only makes its little outburst grow from quiet sniffling to full-on, humiliating sobbing.
cujo wants to curl up and die. cujo wants to rip mirrenās throat out with its teeth. cujo wants andrei to let go of it so it can fight mirren, beat them into submission, force them to apologize and admit its dominance. more than all, cujo wants to be angry, but in the absence of an outlet to express that anger, it weeps instead.
cujo is very, very aware it just fucked up. big time.
the concussion and the gunshot wounds and what feels like a dislocated shoulder are making it hard to ignore that fact. whatās even more concerning, though, is that he doesnāt know where the fuck exfil is. thereās been complete radio silence over comms, but cujoās still dutifully making its way to the fallback point, where itās got a sinking feeling there isnāt going to be anyone waiting for him.

cujo knows he needs to get back to adler. but right now, it is both hurting and extraordinarily tired. staying here and closing his eyes for a second wouldnāt hurt, right?
Suddenly, thomping boots are heard walking up the stairs of the apartment block.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Like someone walking across metal.
The door opens. Not a slam, but not acting gentle either. Like this is just their house.
A small smile comes across their face that they very much struggle to hide upon seeing Andrei. They roll up their balaclava a bit and cough into their elbow to (pathetically) try to hide it.
"Good evening." they say with a respectful nod towards Andrei. "And hello, asshole." they say significantly less respectfully as their head turns to Cujo.
Oh, they could be saying so many things. So many snarky comments that'd make it lose its mind in anger, probably harming itself more in an attempt to lunge at and violently attack them.
Oh, what a pathetic, sloppy, dirty weak little thing we have here. And to think it claimed to be the best version of ME? Me? This is comical, Mirren thinks to themselves.
They turn back to Andrei, who seems to be staring in utter horror at the sudden arrival.
"Okay, before you say anything-
One, how did I find your house. Well, I just did. Don't ask.
Two- just. God. I can't stay here for long. HE doesn't know I left. He'll go ballistic through terror like I'm a toddler walking into a minefield because I left if he knew I had."
They turn towards Cujo again. "Little puppy dog," they mumble under their breath. Not loudly enough to be FULLY intelligible, but Cujo frowns angrily regardless. Or maybe it's just at the fact that Mirren is there at all.
to cujoās credit, it doesnāt lunge immediately. it waits, body trembling with anticipation, until mirren takes a half-step closer, before it lunges, attack dog with a hostile within the range of snapping jaws.
well, it tries. andrei wrestles it back with humiliating ease, shoving it back against the wall with a firm hand at the nape of its neck to keep it from headbutting him. it still fights like hell, struggling so hard it nearly re-dislocates its shoulder before andrei jabs a thumb into one of its newly-stitched wounds, and when it freezes up from the pain, he adjusts to get a better hold on it. cujoās half-sure it hears andrei whisper an apology in its ear, but it can hardly hear over the rushing of blood in its ears.
itās so angry it can hardly fucking breathe. itās so angry it canāt speak, canāt string enough words together to curse mirren out like it wants to. itās so angry it doesnāt know what to do with all of it, and it canāt do anything, because itās immobilized. mirren is there, standing only a few feet away and sneering at it, and it canāt. do. anything.
cujo is very, very aware it just fucked up. big time.
the concussion and the gunshot wounds and what feels like a dislocated shoulder are making it hard to ignore that fact. whatās even more concerning, though, is that he doesnāt know where the fuck exfil is. thereās been complete radio silence over comms, but cujoās still dutifully making its way to the fallback point, where itās got a sinking feeling there isnāt going to be anyone waiting for him.

cujo knows he needs to get back to adler. but right now, it is both hurting and extraordinarily tired. staying here and closing his eyes for a second wouldnāt hurt, right?
Steady hands suddenly wrap around Cujo's chest, roughing dragging it across gravel as a shorter figure pulls it away. Soon after, hauled over shoulders, Andrei picks up Cujo and carries him away.
Cujo comes to in a small apartment. It's wrapped up in bandages and new clothing. It's clean, thin, fresh. Comfortable. Nothing like the heavy, drudging equipment it always wears. Andrei's sitting in the living room, making a face as he reads a book in a foreign language. Polish! He looks up, noticing Cujo awake.
Ah. About time you woke up. You've been out for 6 hours and 23 minutes now, your clothes are in the wash, you might be a little high on pain meds, and I've made sure to fully take care of everything for you. Wounds wise, I mean.
Andrei paused, mulling over what to address before Cujo starts screaming and losing its shit.
No, I'm not going to force you to change into what I'm like and disobey Adler. Yes, I will take you back to Adler if you wish. Just spend a few more hours resting. You're very injured and I want to make sure you won't die of shock.
for what is probably an irritating amount of time, cujo just stares. itās loopy and exhausted, and its entire body feels limp and languid. it almost feels like a dreamā not because the environment is particularly strange, but because cujo is warm and rather comfortable and not in as much pain as it would except considering its bodily condition. once itās fully awake, though, the realization creeps in that cujo is warm and comfortable and pain-free and in andrei aliyevās apartment. it is sharing a room with a traitor. it needs to get out.
to its credit, cujo makes it out of the living room and halfway to the apartmentās front door before andrei manages to pin it. itās a good pin, tooā cujo finds itself with his chest pressed against the floor, its arms pulled just far enough behind its back that thereās a tinge of pain, and its legs being knelt on. it canāt scratch or bite or kick andrei, or manage to throw him off, though it makes a valiant attempt. it struggles as well as it can, but as it begins to realize the futility of the struggle it reluctantly stills. not quitting, just⦠assessing the situation. conserving energy. biding its time.
cujo lies there for a while, panting, its throat rough from snarling and cursing at andrei, when a question begins gnawing at its mind. it elects to ask itā not because it wants to know, because cujo is not supposed to want things, just⦠to distract andrei. itās tactical.
the question is one word, a simple one, mumbled into the hard floor. āwhy?ā
cujo is very, very aware it just fucked up. big time.
the concussion and the gunshot wounds and what feels like a dislocated shoulder are making it hard to ignore that fact. whatās even more concerning, though, is that he doesnāt know where the fuck exfil is. thereās been complete radio silence over comms, but cujoās still dutifully making its way to the fallback point, where itās got a sinking feeling there isnāt going to be anyone waiting for him.
itās not an easy trek. the concussion has cujoās head spinning, not to mention the probably concerning amount of its own blood it can feel soaking into its tactical gear. but cujo perseveres, or at least tries. heās got a job to do, and right now, that job is to make it to the damned exfil location.
at some point, he has to give up the ghost, slump against a filthy brick wall and pull its dark balaclava up over its nose with its less-injured-feeling arm to gasp in a few rattling breaths. the night city air tastes like gasoline and cigarette smoke. like adler.
cujo knows he needs to get back to adler. but right now, it is both hurting and extraordinarily tired. staying here and closing his eyes for a second wouldnāt hurt, right?
Clothes damp from the drizzle that's started to fall, long blond hair beginning to plaster onto his scarred face; he stops in the mouth of the alleyway when he picks up on soft panting.
At first, he thinks he imagined it; the wind shifting a discarded newspaper across the pavement, or his mind playing cruel tricks on him- because for a moment, that strained breathing against the soft patter of rain picking up and wind shifting the air sounds so achingly familiar it almost brings him to his knees.
His gloved hand goes to the gun he keeps tucked under his arm, and he steps into the alleyway, glancing behind him as he does so. If this is some kind of ambush, he is falling for it. He reaches up to push his hair from his face and ventures further into the damp darkness. The smell of blood gets stronger and stronger; finally, he sees a figure, slumped away from any streetlights; balaclava pulled up, mouth open to pull in shallow breaths.
At first, he thinks of leaving. Of turning tail and walking away, before he is roped into anything. But there is that familiarity again; something about the weather, the colour of the sky, the blood seeping between weak fingers, that urges his feet forwards until he is kneeling in front of this figure, sliding his gun back into its holster without a second thought.
cujoās eyelids feel heavy, and itās still so, so tired, but he manages to open his eyes the tiniest bit. squints, vision blurred with the concussion and the low light, seesā blond hair, scarred face. adler? no. hairās too long. a stranger.
a stranger, and heās too close. cujo bares bloodied teeth at him, desperate wounded dog. it makes an attempt to get up, move away, create some distance between them, but stays held down by its heavy limbs.
he snarls nonetheless. thereās blood running down cujoās face from a probably-broken nose, and it can feel more collecting in the back of its throat. spits it out on the concrete mulishly, the best āstay awayā threat he can muster. itās pretty sure the stranger doesnāt even flinch. this is an odd man, cujo thinks through the tinnitus and the brain fog, a very odd man, and cujo does not know what he intends to do. it does not particularly enjoy the not-knowing.
A few drops of blood splatter onto Raskolnikov's face as the stranger spits, and he wipes it off with one gloved finger, translucent-grey eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
It takes a moment for him to speak. He is considering his words; if it would be safer for him to just stand and walk away, if he would be better off letting this stranger fade away on the wet concrete, slumped against the brick wall.
"I'm not here to hurt you," he says, almost despite himself. His voice is slightly raspy, and he speaks with a light Russian accent. "I'm a doctor." Not exactly a lie, not exactly a truth; much like most of Roma Raskolnikov. "You need medical attention."
cujo blinks at the blond man slowly. lethargically. it feels like the world is moving very, very slowly, and he briefly considers whether this is what it feels like to die.
āwhyā¦ā it manages to grind out in a voice choked with pain āā¦why should i trust you.ā regrets it a second later; what if this man really is a doctor, and he gets annoyed with cujo and leaves? cujo doesnāt want to die, and certainly not here, his blood mixing with all the other rubbish strewn around the alley. desperate enough to want to apologize, but too tired to do so, it tries to communicate with its eyes instead; gives the blond man his best pleading look, green eyes hazy under half-open eyelids.
cujo can feel the warm blood seeping between its fingers, can feel even more running down its face from his mouth and nose. he doesnāt think heās going to be awake much longer, and if it really did anger the stranger, itās pretty sure it wouldnāt wake up again.
"You shouldn't," is the only truthful answer Raskolnikov could give. He flexes his fingers, looks over the injured stranger once more before clearing his throat and again smoothing his blond hair back. "'S up to you." His accent thickens slightly with those last words; they remind him of a time long passed, of days that now appear so much simpler.
He is not impervious to that pleading look; never has been, in all honesty, very good at resisting puppy-dog eyes gazing up at him desperately. Remembers too-similar blue green eyes exactly like that, looking at him as a dog looks at its owner.
He makes a split second decision then. It is too late; he can not simply stand and run. There is blood on his gloves now; he is involved. He has to help.
There's a first aid kit in his car. He can picture it clear as day, tucked into the glovebox next to another (concealed) gun and an unopened bottle of painkillers. He glances at the stranger once more.
"I have first aid kit," he says, English growing more broken as he becomes less calm, "in my car. It- it is not far. Can you walk?"
cujo doesnāt answer immediatelyā it takes a few moments for him to process the words, and longer to try and self-assess whether he can.
āā¦maybe,ā it finally chokes out. āwithā with help. ān i might pass out halfway through.ā cujo doesnāt know how it feels about being told by this strange man not to trust him, but it can feel its consciousness starting to fade and the man has offered help in his fleetingly familiar accent. cujo knows he will die if he refuses. he thinks adler would be angry if he died.
thereās blood pooled in the back of cujoās throat again and he briefly chokes on it, coughing and spluttering. it thinks it may have gotten more blood on the blond man and tries to mumble an apologyā it comes out garbled to the point of incomprehensibility, but cujo hopes that his tone, at least, came across.

You? YOU, the best iteration of me? Don't make me laugh.
Lies. I am what you could only imagine. Nationally loved, internationally hated.
EVERYONE knows my fuckin' name. And I've never even heard of you.
I am a Commander, for fucks sake. I am an elite high-ranking soldier in an international spy ring that started World War III.
The power I have is nigh but incomprehensible to you. This is not a threat, just a statement.
I am what you dream you could be. I AM better than you. And you know it too, don't you? That's why you didn't choose to interact with me of your own volition.
Coward.
- @adlers-former-protege.
oh, fuck OFF. your posturing, your power, you title, none of that makes you better than me, just louder.
and no. no, i donāt want to be you. you, ācommanderā though you may be, are the ultimate fucking traitor. you betrayed your team, you betrayed adler, you betrayed the entire western world and all its citizens.
i would rather die a thousand times than be you. you may be powerful, you may feel vindicated, but morally youāre corrupt. degraded. lower than the ground i walk on, and iām not deluded enough to think iām in some lofty fucking position myself. say what you want, think what you think, but i know where I stand; with my team, and above you.
you can rot. i hate to even share a name with you. iām no coward, i just think that even interacting with you is worse than any torture i have, or could, endure.
ā A loud cackling, reminiscent of bellowing laughter, erupts from their chest.
"Oh saint Lucifer, you have got to be even more deluded than I am!" Mirren says between laughter, struggling to catch their breath.
"ME? A traitor? Dear Lucifer, that's a high claim. But you wanna know the truth, huh?
YOU are the true traitor here. You were KIDNAPPED, drugged, ripped of all autonomy and sense of self! And you call staying with the man who sees you as less than an OBJECT as loyalty? Holy shit, that's Stockholm syndrome. You had the opportunity to go back to the glorious Motherland from which you came, to your high position- fuck, to a man that LOVES YOU! That gives you absolutely ANYTHING you want without you even needing to TRY to be his perfect little soldier, and become the hero of Russia.
And yet. And yet, you chose not to.
You could've lied. Lies have no morality. But at this point, comrade," that word drips with condescension. Cujo is no comrade. Cujo is an insubordinate piece of shit.
"- having told the truth would hurt MORE than it helped. It kills you, and it kills Perseus, and it kills our glorious Nation. And yet, hmm, you seemed to think ""sacrificing yourself"" for a man who will forget about you in a week and intentionally lied about his intentions towards you with both YOU and everyone else in that shoddy team is the "heroic move."
"No. I do not see you as better than me. I see you as a fucking idiot blinded from the truth by obvious US propaganda from a man who didn't even know you existed back in January and won't remember you ever did in the next."
ā They rub their eyes in disappointment and groan in frustration, as if they're having to explain basic addition - or why we don't play with bleach - to a toddler.
"I can't even say you sicken me. You're just a disappointment wrapped in American patriotism. You could've been better. You're not worthy of my GENUINE hatred. You're just a caricature of everything worse I could've been.
You make me sad. Your existence, your choices. What a sad little life you live."
[Cujo doesnāt answer, at first. Instead, it has to take nearly a minute to pace around in fury, fists clenching and unclenching like it desperately wants to rip its own hair out. Itās so tense itās visibly trembling. It snatches the nearest fragile thing and smashes it on the floor before seeming to finally wrestle back a bit of its composure and turning back to its counterpart.
Cujoās nearly shouting- unusual for it- when it speaks again, and its voice audibly cracks on every other word.]
shut the fuck up. shut up shut up shut up SHUT your fucking MOUTH. god motherfucking damnit you fucking-
ā¦i donāt want to fucking hear it, you traitorous bastard. youāre not fucking allowed to talk to me like that, spout all your stupid fucking lies, and think for a second iām going to fucking believe them. iām useful, iām loyal, and i know it probably sounds unbelievable to you because youāve never been wanted or needed by anyone in your life, but my adler isnāt going to get rid of me like yours would have, because iām not a deceptive piece of shit who would kill him the first chance i get.
i donāt-
[Cujo cuts off for a second, slamming the heel of its hand into its head once, twice, three times, before continuing.]
i donāt care what you have to say. it means nothing. there is not a single shred of truth worth examining from ANY of the drivel you just spouted at me.
[Itās decidedly unclear whether Cujo is still trying to convince Mirren, at this point.]
You? YOU, the best iteration of me? Don't make me laugh.

āgood bellā. andrei aliyev. you should be ashamed.
to desert your- our- team, and to take another with you? i have heard of your⦠friend. hound. iāve heard of it, heard of the potential it had, heard that it used to be a good dog like me. you did it and the cia a huge disservice by acting like you knew better than its handlers, like it would benefit from disobeying them⦠how could you do that?
iāve heard the stories. hound was a good operative, a great operative, and you manipulated it, stole it away from what it- what we- were meant for.
not only are you a traitor, but you led another into being one too. you should be ashamed.
ā cujo. @the-better-bell.
Ashamed? Well, congrats to you bud, I've always been ashamed. Not planning to become more, only less. So I don't understand your motive here.
I didn't desert jackshit. I was nearly murdered and abandoned on the side of a hill, and yet you have the gall to say I'm the one who deserted? You know, if I wasn't brainwashed, drugged, and abandoned maybe I'd have still been in the CIA.
Hound took THEMSELF down. I had no goddamn hand in it. If I did, I would've made sure they didn't end up in that man's hands in the first place. I didn't do anything. It was Rook. Rook lured them out, Rook told them the truth, Rook...
It's my fault Hound fell into Rook's hands. I could've told them not to go. I could've saved them. They never had to suffer in that tomb with me. I could've saved them. This is all my fault. This is all my fault. This is
I didn't do anything to them. And you're defending murderers who dumped me like garbage onto a cliffside in fuck-nowhere Russia. They'll do the same to you soon, bud, believe me. You aren't special for defending them.
A traitor isn't what I am. I'm a survivor of many attempts at killing and ruining me. I'll continue to survive, whether in shame and agony or pride and comfort.
I hope you'll be able to live that way someday soon. Without trying to drag others to your level.
Get a life. And an identity beyond the CIA. You'll benefit.
sure, maybe youāre a survivor. but you canāt claim you didnāt have a part in everything that happened, really.
if your adler betrayed you, you must not have given him a good enough reason to trust you. my adler knew he can trust me, and he didnāt try to kill me. you know why? because iām loyal, i have always been loyal, and iāve never given him a single reason to believe i would be a traitor.
oh, and that rook you mentioned? maybe if youād stuck with your team and the cia instead of fucking off and going your own way, you and hound never wouldāve ended up with him. how about that, huh?
youāre a real piece of work, you know that? couldnāt just settle for defecting, you had to bring half a dozen other traitors with you. iāve never met someone so desperate to enable disloyalty from the same organization he devoted his life to for so long.
you should be ashamed, frank woods. you were one of the CIAās top operatives, and youāve fallen so low. youāre so spineless and morally compromised that if i didnāt know better, iād think thatās why you need the wheelchair.
ā cujo. @the-better-bell.
Thatās one helluva introduction, kid.
I donāt really give a shit. Your CIA fucked me over time and time again, and I aināt too keen on turning the other cheek anymore. Not to bleed for a country that wonāt let me crawl away and lick my own wounds.
Plus, the pay was shit.
You can think youāre better than me, or any of the āBellās on here, but youāre just another piece on the board. We all get played, kid, just depends on how long till we admit it.
Go fuck yourself. Or let your precious Adler do it, since you already seem to have his cock down your throat.
it isnāt your place to speculate on my relationship with my handler. iād say that if youāre thinking this much about his dick you should suck it yourself, but we both know youāre too proud for that.
iām very aware that iām being āplayedā, by the way. itās just that, unlike my counterparts, i recognize thatās where i belong. not everybody needs to make their own choices, and i, for one, know i can be far more effective if i do what iām told instead of trying to rebel against my superiors at every turn.
Yeah, thats fuckinā pathetic. Laying down and letting them put the collar on is the weakest thing Iāve seen in a damn hot minute. How the hell do you know youāre more effective without rebelling if you aināt never tried it?
Whatever. You do you, kid. Just keep your high-fucking-horse away from me, itās boring. At least Andreiās little āfriendā is entertaining with his bullshit.
oh, fuck off. iām not fucking weak for doing my damn job, iām a whole hell of a lot stronger than all you traitors who decided you didnāt want to do anything hard and deserted instead.
oh, and iām on a high horse? what about you, looking down at me for being loyal? iād say thatās far more snobbish than pointing out that iām better at doing what needs to be done than you and all your little accomplices.
you calling me weak. fucking weak. it could almost be funny if it werenāt so fucking wrong that itās infuriating.
